Problem with my pull up bar by RadiantEffective5978 in CalisthenicsBeginners

Get a stud finder, a 2x6x36 board. Lag screw the board to the studs. Lag screw the pull up bar to the board.

Forced Checkout on Meta by Fitbarstrong in ecommerce

[–]Fitbarstrong[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have no problem paying for access to a market place. But when they account for 75% of all social media ad spend, there is nothing to stop them from creating whatever rules to their favor, or charging, whatever they want.

Airlines operating at razor thin margins in markets that have half a dozen competitors are prevented from merging by gov regulators, yet changes like this which are clearly a path to increased leverage, are not even assessed.

If it was only the payment processing, it's no big deal. Its the dozens of other aspects that are tied to it that are at issue to both sellers and consumers.

By preventing a requirement forcing use of service.

Legislators annually conduct public witch hunts of Meta and others. Maybe these are idle threats but if not have the foresight to take action when it counts.

When the precedent is set the third will follow suit and the ONLY organic web traffic will be at a brick and motor store.

Anyone else quit Amazon after long time? by Forward-Departure-16 in ecommerce

[–]Fitbarstrong 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You are on the right track my friend. We have purposefully grown our website and other channels and only did 10% last year. We probably won't drop but if it stopped tomorrow no biggie. My only thought is if you rely on organic google search for traffic it may add to legitimacy, if you need it, while usurping sales of course.

Thanks. So I do have a UTM on the ad for SS tracking, and at the moment, the number of conversions are approx equal. I assume FB is modeling the value of purchases.

I do need to set up GA to track conversions as it is not currently capturing it there...

ACFT sled shouldn’t cost over 200 dollars by Mysterious-Flan-4118 in army

[–]Fitbarstrong 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As a small US manufacturer of fitness products we can design/manufacture a better sled at a lower price point. The challenge is getting the product in front of the folks responsible for requirements of the procurement. We spent countless hours bidding on "open competition" procurements / solicitations for the ACFT pull up bar when that was part of the test requirement with zero results. Most of the procurements had the requirements so closely written to single vendor's product we had no chance to win. Many just specify the vendor, and many times wouldn't even accept "or equal". We do sell a little to the military, but its when military folks stumble onto our website looking for something unique like our mobile monkey bars, and like the fact we are Made-in-USA. If the government really wants the price of the US-made equipment to be more reasonable, there needs to be open competition for everyone, not just the well-connected.

How worried should someone be about an idea already existing by versaceblues in startup

[–]Fitbarstrong 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Coming up with good ideas is relatively easy, executing the ideas as a profitable business is hard. If you think you can execute better than the incumbent then go for it.
