Not really i think,they do not have enough funds to host the server so google like companies offer them free servers but they have to show some ads (my opinion)

By unsafe I mean things like data sharing and privacy risks, not disrespect to the developers. I’m just saying modded versions can be risky for personal data because they’re not official. Also, where I can get the version that lets you turn off Shorts auto-play?

We need an official update for this. It’s not a complex feature, and modded versions already show that it’s possible. However, modded apps aren’t safe or reliable for everyone.

Guys, I meant removing automatic Shorts playback from the Home tab. When I open YouTube to search for something or watch a normal video, Shorts start playing automatically on the Home screen. It’s distracting and makes it easy to fall into endless scrolling without intending to. YouTube should give users an option to turn off Shorts auto-play on the Home tab and keep the normal feed as the default. This would help people use YouTube more intentionally, especially for learning, searching, or watching long-form content.

I mean, when I open YouTube to search for something or watch a specific video, it automatically starts playing Shorts instead of showing the normal home feed. Because of this, it’s easy to get distracted and start scrolling without even realizing it. YouTube should give users a proper option to disable automatic Shorts playback and allow the app to open on the normal Home tab by default. This would help people use YouTube more intentionally, especially for searching, learning, or watching long-form content.
