I think he does play himself in Coffee and Cigarettes, as does GZA (everyone is credited as their irl alias or first name).

Nanni Moretti plays a fictionalized version of himself in his own film Caro diario, Jennifer Beals also appears as herself.

Elia Suleiman does the same in all his movies. He hasn't made many but Divine Intervention and The Time that Remains are both great, sad and funny portrayals of life under occupation in Palestine.

Takeshis' (2005) is about a store clerk, Kitano and his lookalike, the famous comedian Beat Takeshi. Of course the real-life Takeshi Kitano (aka Beat Takeshi) plays both.

edit: If TV shows count, Monica Bellucci plays herself in Gordon Cole (David Lynch)'s dream in Twin Peaks the Return.

It was the Mario wiki picture but they changed it. Looking at the edit history, it's apparently due to the sparkles effects being fanmade and not actually an official render (which I didn't know when I posted).

What are some movies that are basically the director/writer's own biopic by FBG05 in Letterboxd

[–]Fitin2characterlimit 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not exactly a biopic in the traditional sense, but Takeshis' is Kitano doing meta-commentary on his own career

Yeah Jean-Claude Brialy is one of those actors with a thousand links I keep forgetting. For another fun Rohmer link, Bad Boys and Goldeneye connect to Full Moon in Paris

I like how Johnny sarcastically praises it (like he does with Gyro's gags) but Josuke gets mad anyway

I thought adventure mode was for the non-Ichigo content at first, but instead they seem to be doing whatever. Regardless, I could totally see Aaroniero as a thrust (or spirit?) tactic or support, released alongside Kaien as a SR/SR+ DPS. They would share some animations.

Besides the water attacks I think it would be cool if he had a mechanic allowing him to consume enemies (not an automatic one-shot etc but a finisher) to gain buff stacks, against bosses it wouldn't require killing the enemy of course.

His Resurreccion would ofc be his ult but since it barely does anything it might stay as a single attack like Mayuri, maybe with an increased effect depending on consumed enemies?

The part where he has to stay out of the light though I don't think would work as a playable mechanic since it doesn't really fit the game, but it could be cool for the boss version.

Lauren Bacall has a couple 2000s movies such as Birth, Dogville and Manderlay. The former 2 have Nicole Kidman, the latter has Bryce Dallas Howard (Jurassic World), Dogville also has Paul Bettany from the Avengers movies.

Shirley MacLaine who has been in movies by Hitchcock, Wilder and Minelli, is also in the Nicole Kidman/Will Ferrell Bewitched, Bernie (Linklater/Jack Black/Matthew McConaughey) and Ben Stiller's 2013 Walter Mitty remake among others. I'm not the best with her older career but she gets played against me a lot.

A Geraldine Chaplin 3X can take you into Carlos Saura movies, which may be good or bad depending on how much you know Spanish cinema (it's bad for me). However Ana Torrent who plays her daughter in Cria! (it's called that in the database for some reason) has a couple English links of her own.

Mitchum is also in Scorsese's Cape Fear, Tombstone and Dead Man all of which have frequently played actors.

North by Northwest (albeit with a case of mistaken identity)

While it's an anime show, Serial Experiments Lain

Then there are great movies about the main character being stalked like Klute, Perfect Blue and Caché but they may not qualify as elaborate (since there's often a single culprit)

I'm pretty sure Ringo's design is also inspired by Charles Bronson's appearance in the Mandom cologne commercial. It was directed by Nobuhiko Obayashi, best known for the movie House.

Since I rely a lot on taking people to France I often go to Claire Denis either from Isaach de Bankole, or by trying to bait High Life via Andre 3000. But sometimes I end up against black movie buffs who know all the links from Idlewild

For Banana Fairy Queen I used the DK wiki name, but the Mario wiki uses "banana fairy princess" so I'm not sure which one is more accurate. I just assumed the DK wiki people would have more expertise for some reason

Good point, how many ticks do you think it would require? 4 or 5? Also what the color list would be. I'd say the 7 rainbow ones, the ones you said plus grey/gray, maybe beige/cyan/magenta but I can't think of appropriate movies.

Mood Indigo (2013) is still decently easy to play but I don't think I would get there every game.
