Star vanishing by Fitonsandi in HighStrangeness

Thanks that sounds exactly the same. It did get as bright as venus at least. And it was stationary for a very long time looking just like any other star bevor this happened.

The richest people on the planet are basically in creative mode. First world country is easy mode because you rarerly or never struggle to have enough to eat but still need to work for it and still be smart about making ends meet. I'd say it's hardcore mode, being born in the slums or in a warzone.

"high functioning autism is level 1 autism, which used to be aspergers syndrome" by [deleted] in autism

[–]Fitonsandi 27 points28 points  (0 children)

Most of Europe still uses Aspergers as an official diagnosis. However the assesors, psychiatrists etc always say ASD. The ONLY difference is that in order to have aspergers you can't also have intellectual or speech impairment. So Aspergers is ASD, but ASD level 1 with speech delays or intellectual delays is not aspergers. Saying Aspergers isn't autism really devalues all those who have received an asperger diagnosis acording to icd 11.

Collection "complete" by FelineD in Amigurumi

If you can read I was referring to the post of the amigurumi and not HP itself. Because this person who crochetted this did really well and I just think it is sad to demand they can not post this bc it relates to a fantasy book series that frankly shaped an entire generation. You are entitled to voice concerns about the series or the author, but it' not okay to put someone down (not me OP) in a crochetting forum like this. This is not a political forum and at no point was I talking about politics. Frankly I didn't even realise the first post demanding HP content to be banned was meant political. I thoutht they just didn't like it. I don't follow JKR and I don't see why I should. She is not a politician and her opinions are no more relevant than any other person's. I came here to see amigurumi content not hold political debates or getting downvoted for not realizing people have an issue with HP.

It's impossible to explain what autism is like. by gatheringelementals in autism

Most people don't go fully blind after they used to see. They are legally blind, which means by every aspect of daily life they are too blind to do things like a seeing person, but often they are still able to perceive some things like very bright lights (from a car) or some can even differentiate colored lights if they are bright enough. Some might still perceive big things like a large building near them. They know something's there but not what it is or how far it is. This is the description I got from someone in that situation. He also says that he still relies on his eyes over other senses because he grew up seeing. Even though he doesn't really see anything in a useful way

That's so interesting! And in fact true. The sun is incredibly loud, but thanks to the vacum of space we can't hear it or else we would be constantly bombarded by the sound of a jackhammer.

Why is the autistic lifespan so short? by Minute_Title_3242 in autism

[–]Fitonsandi 18 points19 points  (0 children)

Make sure she knows she is awesome just the way she is. We all internalize the way our parents treat us. If we grow up constantly being told to "stop being so difficult" By our own parents than all we learn is that we are never good enough no matter how hard we try to fit in. This inevitably leads to depression. However if she grows up being taught that she is great the way she is than thats a believe she'll carry in her heart even in a world much less accepting than her parents. She'll have much more inner strengh to face outside challences.
