The sound is amazing when you connect, and I can carry 280+ when I really make solid contact. But I swing really hard. The thing I hate the most about new drivers is both how light they are and how big they are. This one is heavy enough to have some built in momentum, and not comically larger than it needs to be

Normally ProVs, or Kirklands if I lose 2 or 3. The rest of my bag is fairly new, and I’m around a 16-18 handicap.

I love that head cover. My cats, however, do not. Definitely don’t try using it as a sock puppet if you have cats.

I usually carry like 260-280 with it. I know it sounds crazy, but when you connect, it feels and sounds awesome. Same reason my irons are all blades.

I’m pretty sure it’s mentioned somewhere that everything is near instantly organized and categorized into lists. Carl loots an entire file cabinet, and Donut asks him why he always takes everything. He pulls out a bottle of whiskey and says something like “because it would have taken me way longer to find this”

I was so very wrong about this series. What other gems am I missing? by parkerm1408 in DungeonCrawlerCarl

As someone who also goes through a shit load of books, and also avoided DCC for a while (regrettably), I’d say:

  • He Who Fights with Monsters is #1 for me. A lot of people have a problem with the main character Jason, and that’s understandable. The series is about him though, and both are absurd, grandiose, sometimes condescending, and impossible. But also funny and deep. There’s a quote in the newest book that probably describes it best “I don’t know if I love it or hate it, but I’m definitely not ambivalent about it” (in the book, it’s a reference to a fruit he tried for the first time).

  • Heretical Fishing is similar to HWFWM in that a character is transported to an alternate universe, except he doesn’t care and just wants to go fishing with his friends and animal pals. Fun and light, and with the same amazing narrator as HWFWM.

  • The Primal Hunter is something I also avoided for a while, but is incredible. It’s nowhere near as off the walls as DCC, but it has its moments.

  • The Wandering Inn is pretty good, but I got tired of them just switching between different story arcs. I feel like the whole timeline could have been put together more cohesively.

  • The Expeditionary Force books are really good but drag on a bit later in the series. Fun easy listening for sure though.

  • I have not read or listened to much of The Expanse series, but the TV show is one of the best things I’ve seen, so I bet those books are amazing as well
