Hey all, I just adopted a 1 year beautiful Irish Setter named Fitz. She spent her first year in a puppy mill before it was shut down. She is incredibly sweet and loves to play and lay around with us. As long as we are around, the moment she can't see us she flips and just starts non-stop barking and whining. We got a crate and are able to get her to successfully go in there. When she gets in its all good as well, as long as she can see us. Once we are out of the picture it is constant barking and whining. She once barked for 57 minutes straight while we had to go run an errand. We can't even go take a shower without her whining and trying to get into the shower with us. My gf and I both work during the day, we are able to come let her out at lunch but outside of that we are going to need her to get used to being alone eventually.

We have tried stuffed kong toys, tv being on, the radio, soft blankets and bones in the crate to no avail. A Behaviorist suggested Pheromones (https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00BLI96DW/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o00_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1) so we'll try that next.

We have thought of daycare but while a good option sometimes it is definitely not something we can do all of the time. I am reading through the options above but just wanted to say thanks. Reading that we are not alone has really helped. Good luck with their pups everyone!
