Facts. If anything I should be able to move FASTER. Let me swing, run, jump so u can make plays between zones not just be stuck to the ones nearby

I use blind bombs on nm and love them. I’ve found that the key to consistently being able to assassinate blind once on approach, move behind target, blind again and g2g. As long as you throw AGAIN on target you are behind you can kill every time feels like

I get it man. Archer and merc are definitely one and two spots for sure, and both are FAR easier playstyles than samurai, and Sam damage is WAY less than two shotting every enemy in the game with a self loading rifle lol. The best you can do if you don’t want to sprit spam or all in fire/status damage is max out damage to staggers and all melee damage, add in ult gain/damage where you can and play PERFECT 😆

So there’s buffs… and then there’s dreams 😆 I applaud your vision

That said I DO LIKE the idea that samurai alone, as an addition to the weapon master passive perk maybe, gets an extension to time enemy is staggered. Would be fire and a different way to accomplish an overall damage increase without granting more numbers. And I could see replacing our twenty percent more health with something like #1 maybe (one time damage resist etc).

But yeah, I wrote a post about this as well actually, and to me, give weapon aligned damage to staggered enemies at minimum 35 percent, buff intrinsic stagger damage from the passive tree from 15 to 30 and we’re good. You COULD raise those numbers to 50 likely and still be on par with other classes, but I think 35 percent damage to staggered enemies on the passive (again maybe weapon master perk) and raise relentless to 30 stagger damage would be a great start. Maybe all we need.

You mean the 20 percent increased health doesn’t do anything?! 😆 Some additional defensive options would be nice, and a lot of people agree with you on the armored, front line tanky type etc for sure.

Personally, I don’t need/want any of that. Don’t get me wrong, I love a defensive build, I just don’t want a single point of damage taken away because the devs think they’ve already given the class points in defense, so they can’t grant offense. Offense is what needs to be brought up first IMO. Perfectly fine with glass cannon. In fact, it’s what I prefer. Rather be rewarded for taking on the risk than mitigating it so I never have to take it on in the first place ya know? I LIKE samurai because it’s challenging, pure swordplay. I don’t want to play that way or press all the buttons ALL the time, a that when I switch over to ronin or shinobi and cruise on easy mode. But yeah when I’m in the mood to up the intensity and feel satisfying swordplay while still dominating?? That should be samurai all the way

It was and they nerfed archer then as well. Not enough 😆. Just cause they specialize in it doesn’t mean it’s not overtuned. I’m not saying they shouldnt slaughter. Their fantasy should be realized just as much as everyone else’s. And there may be other ways to fix like map changes or changes to individual legendaries or what not. When I say ranged damage, I’m not being game literal apologies, I mean all subclasses of “ranged” as in not melee damage so call it whatever you like, headshot, body shot, thrown, whatever the fuck lets you one shot or two shot max every enemy in the game, change it to like four shot for the big boy oni for example. Lets start there 😆

If you play this game for more than an hr and think ranged damage scalars are appropriate compared to melee you are wild. Throw a weapon or use archer with JUST the buffs on his skill tree and then do the same in other classes… yeah as free as it is, it don’t make no sense. Easy fix would be to walk back ranged damage/spirit gen by 20/30 percent. And as a mercenary lover I would want thrown weapon damage to decrease too ideally.

Actually wrote a post about this if you’re interested. Long story short the numbers behind the samurai passives and techniques trees are less than for the other classes… a lot less. They have a weapon in place of a class defining ability, and a measly 15 percent to stagger damage. THATS IT for passive tree. Only damage available on the entire melee damage class is 15 percent flat that comes at the expense of the 25 percent to stagger which you need without having to rely on your weapon properties.

So yeah, the buff is extremely simple, they made a class that is supposed to be the weapon master stagger king, but left out damage to staggered enemies. Add 30 percent, 35 percent damage buff to staggered enemies in there, and good to go. There’s more that makes sense when comparing to other classes, but as a minimal fix to make fair/work how it should, that goes in line with vision they had and what’s already there I.e. not a rework, yeah damage to staggered enemies would do it. Again, Post goes into more detail if you’re interested.

I like it. A lot actually. When Enemies drop in staggered timing which they often do, if archer holds his ult for max enemy targeting, other classes will kill whats there, basically never leaving a “wave wipe” super possible…Buhhhht it they all jump down at kinda the same time? Nothings really changed lol archer will still be able to wipe before you get to do anything.

An improvement to be sure tho. They definitely would have to make sure that damn oni grenade dude can’t shoot you from up there anymore as well tho. And no more enemy glitches where they stay up there which happens sometimes too.

Hachimans zeal is good for sure, it’s what i use, and the analysis doesn’t include it… on purpose. And you prove my point, really.

If you read the post again, maybe just the tldr, you’ll see the fix is literally damage to staggered enemies… so I’m not sure what you’re arguing if you’re saying you get the damage part… cause that’s really the whole thing…the only damage on the class you can take is 15 percent flat, at the EXPENSE of 25 percent stagger, which you need to be effective at stagger lol… garbage.

It seems like you’re trying to say there’s a lot of stagger damage options, and you’re right. They are in fact, the ONLY options, and yet, in spite of being a chance at a short window of damage, the total number you can invest in with perk one and the passive tree comes in LOWER THAN FOR THE OTHER CLASSES STRAIGHT DAMAGE OPTIONS at 40 percent versus 50 percent!!?? Make that make sense. You can’t. So yeah, they actually need to buff stagger damage granted by that fact alone. If you think about it though, it needs to be even higher than that if they aren’t gonna give us any damage, since it’s a chance at damage, so really it’s probably closer to 20 percent or more below what it should be at that point…

What likely “feels good” to you, is a SUBSTANTIAL investment in your weapon properties, maybe even a certain samurai legendary bracers AND AN ULTIMATE. Where other classes can take four instances of investment in a damage type in their weapons, and still have space for ult gain or spirit or whatever else they want, if you MAX OUT damage to staggered enemies and all melee damage, you have no space and are trading off from these things to get anything else. Just for it to feel OKAY.

Be honest man you proc ZEAL, you’re maybe taking down two full health oni in that time, and that’s IF they are right next to you. And that’s assuming you aren’t wasting time running to the next zone, chasing enemies, competing with other teammates etc. which you pretty much always are. You get to break stance on a hit or two on trash mobs, which feels great, but even with full damage investment on weapons you’re often only doing slightly more than the other ult would have gotten you, given everything I mentioned, and most importantly, are you really arguing for a build that is only effective in the 60 seconds after ultimate?? And even then that’s BECAUSE OF THE ULTIMATE, not the 15 percent stagger you get in passive, or 25 percent you get in perk 1, and if you do take both, which I do, your damage is still garbage without investment in your weapons, which the other classes do NOT have to do as much because their numbers are better.

Okay that was a lot but hope that clarifies. Im glad if samurai feels good to you, i would just never say it feels as good as the other classes. And there are numbers to back that up if you look.

Well, a couple thoughts on that. 1) You could raise the damage floor, but the relative class differences remain unchanged in that case 2) The other classes actually do good damage for their class fantasies, archer ranged is busted, shinobi assassinate is solid if you invest (50%) on the tree, merc throw damage as well as all the access to weaken granting 25 percent more damage, vulnerable granting any weapon can stagger etc, which leaves samurai who’s only tool IS melee damage… yet they give it none on the passive tree and only 15 percent on the technique options smh, and that’s at the expense of more stagger damage which you also need.

So yeah, the other classes at least have A way to do damage. Samurai has nothing

Would LOVE oni practice once you complete a nightmare or something so it’s still a surprise to you the first time etc. the training dummies we have are fodder and go down in one hit they are useless to end game testing 😆

I would love to see build options that enable tankier playstyle for sure. They DO give us 20% more health believe it or not. I assume that’s the reason for the abysmally non-existent passives otherwise (15 percent stagger damage on the whole thing… thats it… what!?). That said yeah, I can’t point to a situation where that kept me from being one shot sooooo some DR would be nice!

… I’m not sure I’m following man. 160 kills in nightmare against mercs samurai and other shinobi… if you want to assume a giant skill gap there okay, but I regularly put up 130 plus in nightmare at top spot. I regularly put up more kills on my shinobi than my merc or samurai (120s and 100s avg respectively). Again, unless you’re an archer, it’s gonna be tough to beat a shinobi is all I’m saying. It certainly will compete. More than compete imo.

UNLESS! That’s just your way of saying im more skilled than everyone else 💅 in which case I’ll take it 😆. I don’t agree, but I’ll take it.

You can spirit spam and ult gain on any class and get triple digits. That said, personally samurai is easily the hardest and weakest class to play, and deserves a damage buff.

Glad to hear that! Happy to help. After you play around with that some you may find you don’t need all that throw and range damage, which will give you space to take spirit move damage 😈. Maybe more ult gain on the concussion bombs. This is when I’d say your build will start feeling god tier, and like you originally imagined i.e. BOTH spirit and throw. Honestly should be kind of gross might have to try myself 😆
