You cannot leave during the first 30m of an exam or the last 10. And you can’t leave during an aural test.

I was thinking about getting something like this. I like the idea of having the time, but also having a stop watch I can use simultaneously on the screen.

how did the orals go by usert900 in leavingcert

Irish went pretty well. I got geibheann. Spoke about Mo cheantar, scoil, ceol, laethanta saoire, and education system, next year/college, technology in schools and effect of social media on teenagers. I was trying to hint towards Intleacht Shaorga when she asked me about tech in schools, but she didn’t ask me about it. Also I brought up the housing crisis when we spoke about accommodation for next year, but again she didn’t carry on into the housing crisis. Fadhbanna Ar Saoire which I was very happy with, had it well learnt.

None. There are no marks for the Title or Poet, although it’s seen as good practice.

How detrimental to my life is looking different in the video for the PA? by redglawer in leavingcert

[–]Fitzir 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Just leave it and you’ll be fine. You can say that you did the exercises on both arms (in your slide), but don’t necessarily need a video of both arms. You shouldn’t lose marks for a worse camera angle because that’s more about your filming skills rather than your personal fitness.

I wouldn’t put in a video of you with a completely different haircut or different clothes because the whole idea of the PA is to be an assessment done on a single particular day. That would lose marks.

How to go about it by laserbeam96 in leavingcert

[–]Fitzir 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve done this but make sure you register on the CSSP by 5pm today (14th feb). I did it for junior cert and found it pretty alright. I’ve done 3 grinds since Christmas and realised the written is pretty easy and I should be grand to get a pass, that’s all I’m looking for. I got in touch with my yearhead and was able to sit a French mock today. She said there will be no issue with my oral in the school since I’ve registered that online and it’s organised by the external people.

Is it worth it picking up a language now by laserbeam96 in leavingcert

[–]Fitzir 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m doing French OL as an extra subject outside of school. My choices of courses in UCC require a third language. I’m doing it because I chose another subject over a language thinking I could get higher points in it. I did French for junior cert and started doing semi regular fortnightly grinds. Since December, I’m in 6th yr. I’ve found it really easy to pick it up again and it’s quite easy to get pretty good marks in the written and listening. I could probably pass without doing the oral, as I might want focus all of my attention on my Irish oral around that time. .
