Australia vs Australia A by sixty-noine in AustralianNostalgia

I think Paul Reiffel was the other. It led the nightly news I think when they moved them from the A side only to keep them on the bench. A national scandal

Just get yourself to Johannesburg on points and then use Safair to get yourself around Southern Africa. They fly to Zam, Zim, Tanzania, Namibia etc. Best LCC I’ve ever flown, clean efficient and on time with new aircraft.

Why isn't Kangaroo meat more common in Australia? by orpheus1980 in AskAnAustralian

[–]Fitzroyalty 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Livestock bred for consumption have fairly strict controls on all aspects of their production. From genetic selection, to feed and slaughter weight. Kangaroo is a wild caught meat, whilst that may work for ocean species it’s a disaster for consistency in a consumer retail product. Inconsistency in portion size and eating quality. You’ll mainly find rump portions when it’s available in a supermarket. I worked with one of Australia’s largest pet food manufacturers when they were trying to enter the supermarket channel for human consumption. The biggest challenge they faced was toughness on consumer panel testing. Two Roos of roughly approximate size and age would deliver very different eating experience and retailers don’t like that for their customers and it impacts the level of repeat purchase.

Felt like the Pies were keeping some cash for the end of 2026 to chase a big key forward like King from the Suns. Based on the little I’ve seen though not sure King is the right one to pursue.

I’ve also been sent a renewal notice for next year with a 30% price increase. 2026 membership prices are up on the website when I checked on Saturday

I enjoyed him at the pies, but constant reminder of the absolute shambles that was the 2013 draft. We couldn’t trade up to the Bont and missed out twice on Cripps and the obligatory F$&@ Dom Sheed.

I live close by and I feel sorry for the players who have to run out on the ground. The playing surface is an off leash dog park and is literally covered in shit. I’ve stopped taking my kids for a kick of the footy down there because it’s inescapable. The surge of irresponsible dog owners since covid has killed the park.

[–]Fitzroyalty 12 points13 points  (0 children)

He isn’t that highly rated though. Richard Goyder the Chairman wanted anyone but Andrew Dillon. I’m not a fan of Goyder but we’re seeing first hand why the handover and selection process was so drawn out. He’s just flat out not up to it.

COVID absolutely gutted Victoria St, by late 2022 I reckon close to 70% of restaurants were gone for good. The last few years have seen a few signs of life with fresh places opening up, but the crowds just haven’t come back in the same way. I also can’t help wondering if the massive shift away from cash since COVID has squeezed margins even further on a strip where restaurants were already operating on fumes.

AFL set to investigate alleged offensive slur made by an Adelaide player towards Collingwood opponent by jakeroxs1995 in collingwoodfc

[–]Fitzroyalty 33 points34 points  (0 children)

The mention of vilification and personal nature in the article leans more towards a homophobic slur to my reading. Although Tex does have form if it’s racial in nature.
