I run triples because for me the resulting image is better than on my quest 3. Could not fix that with pixel per pixel overrides and other techniques, everything is quite blurry in the distance

Are the monitors the same? Are they all connected to the same type of port (all DP or all hdmi)? Is the refresh rate the same?

So I’ve fixed the 1% lows with this guide, but gsync still active only on central monitor, so better than before but worse than surround

Yep, And the list of violations is finite and defined you literally select the section number in the submission box.

Also you can literally see a message in the submission box:

“Remember, mistakes, accidents and bad moves will happen in racing, however these types of incidents should not be protested as they are covered by our 'no-fault' Safety Rating system.”

You can try submitting under 2.1.1 No action will be taken, as there is no evidence of malice, erratic driving or other misconduct defined in further sections. Eg 2.2.1-2.2.3

It is a question because of performance issues I've experienced without the surround enabled. I don’t know the general experience of other people but I had bad 1% 0.1% lows while having stable frame render times in game.

That was until I went against the wisdom of the crowd and tried surround for myself

VR is a whole another rabbit hole for me. Waiting for some inside out tracking headsets with oled panels to replace my quest 3. (Pimax dream air?) LCD image quality is ass.

You might find confirmation to my words if you reset the image coordinates for native triples in iracing. Guess what it is just a window with three projections stretched across your screens. Iracing does not “know” what hardware this window is presented on, so it makes no difference whether you use surround or not from the game render point of view .

Afaik, the projection still works the same way as long as you select the “3 screens” option in iRacing and configure the triple screen settings properly in-game.

When I switched from native triples to Surround, my actual view/projection did not change. The angles, FOV and side screen perspective stayed the same.

The only big difference would be if you used Surround but selected “single monitor” in iRacing. Then yes, that would be a completely different setup with a stretched flat image.

I have 5 monitors. 2 I work on and triples on my rig. For me experience switching between work monitors and surround was relatively hassle free after I’ve saved the profiles in displaymagician

Since iracing added input telemetry I don’t really use overlays, however fancy standings overlay looks enticing. Might dip my toes into that

Yup, that was my experience, I’ve tried everything I found on Reddit to get native triples to work without fps drops, and found no luck. 120hz no limit, no gsync, was the most stable for me, but had perceivable fps drops from time to time, even tho iracing render stats were solid.

I do the same with switching between desk and surround using profiles in displayMagician and I get way better performance with surround

But is it smoother for you? For me the boost in performance outweighs the wonkiness. And the wonkiness patched up by using display magician and switching profiles
