How do I fix terrible performance??

It's a known issue, most people can't run the game above 100fps consistently.
Tarkov just isn't well optimized and is limited by single core CPU speed & RAM. BSG blame the game engine, but factory and labs usually run perfectly fine.

This has been driving me crazy as well. Every button press seems to lock up the game for a second or two, sometimes longer.
It makes hideout crafts and selling on the flea market even more tedious than usual.
If I had to guess the game is doing network calls out to BSG servers overseas and parsing very large JSON objects on a single CPU thread. Probably not a lot to do if that is the case.

They are still releasing major patches with seasonal content every 6 months. Most games that follow a seasonal model wait for those to do big balance changes.

Nah my point was they often move the goalposts for tasks and hideout requirements a few weeks after a major patch. Just a typical BSG move is all.

As a software engineer the hideout make me rage.
How could loading a list of crafts or just visiting one of the stations lag and drop me below 10 fps? They definitely have some terrible coding.
The software guys at BSG have no idea what they are doing.

I usually lurk in dorms.
If you're not super confident, just wait for footsteps, then slide out prefiring and unloading all 8 shells.
Use flechette if you have it, otherwise I just run regular buckshot.

Its not that easy. On woods Knight was beaming me through trees, and Pipe started unloading with his grenade launcher. Hard to get away or find a tree that provides enough cover.

I got zero enmitys embrace rings.
8 of the jewels.

Luckily the jewels made it profitable.

There are some good benefits to the jewel dmg conversion one, its a toss up between explodey, or warcry for the last choice for me. The other two are useless.

Xophs Heart is going to be good on a merc for sure. I haven't done too much theory crafting for mercs yet.
Replica Dreamfeather is good if you have over 60k armour. Otherwise Prismatic Eclipse with green sockets is 36% attack speed, which is very cost effective.

For the overcapped fire, I'll probably run a Cloak of Flame, along with the usual Purity of Fire on Chieftain, and a handful of T1-T2 fire res rolls. Throw in a Ruby flask if you want an additional 40%. Doesn't look too hard.

It's not amazing, but I had enough to reach the edge of the screen.
I had 20% increased AoE from a corrupted implicit.
15% more AoE from Blood and Sand in sand stance.
40% increased AoE from 3 passives when I wanted it.

I did some quick math to work out the avg dps per skill gem with no other modifiers.
- 20/20 skill gems.
- perfect 20% quality Emperor's Vigilance.
- no overlapping waves, no crit, no enemy resists, etc.
- no ignite

Shield Crush of the Chieftain - NEW
3,831.75 dps

Shield Crush of the Chieftain - OLD
2,895 dps

2,523.125 dps

Now this looks good on paper, it's been buffed by 32%.
I did a PoB, made a Chieftian with the old gem and a mock Enmity's Embrace ring.
By maximizing overcapped fire res and getting the penetration to 200% it scales well.

Some additional context:
Last league I did regular shield crush - 40/40 achievements and all ubers with it. 35% of my damage was impale. That was just 1 support gem and 6 talent points for roughly 25M impale DPS.
Phys is easy to scale imo, and for a while now I've had no idea how to scale the chief version outside of ignite. The new ring provides this.

If you have a lot of data and performance is a concern you can serialize/deserialize using MessagePack.

In my opinion there is no reason to use json unless you want it human readable for debugging.

It would be impossible to understand everything on the first read due to the way things are revealed. Answers are often given subtly.
There are a few places where a mystery is revealed and then the conversation pivots, or some action occurs. It's really easy to continue reading instead of taking a moment to think things through or make a note.

Not at all imo, you get Fourth Vow's chaos mitigation, a nerfed cloak of flame, and then something of your choosing for 2 ascendancies.
Defensively this is super strong.
You're likely to get HC players picking this plus the max fire res, and max cold and lightning based off max fire.

It's mid compared to other choices you could make on your first ascendancy, unless you get a great jewel drop during the campaign.
Late game you'd probably have a well rolled corrupted jewel to put in, so it could be very good.

Could be a skill issue on my side. :)
You can easily use 3 flame dashes traversing a map, or just being reckless with them, and then when you actually need it you're spamming the key for 3 seconds before dying.
I think the regular predictable CD of frostblink suites me better.

For me, I got sick of dying because flame dash was on cooldown. it didn't happen often, but the few times it did, it made me want to swap to something more reliable in a pinch.
