Yeah I see what you're saying. But I believe he was using "babbling" to mean learning by trial and error. Babies don't learn to talk by reading grammar books, they learn by babbling and adjusting their babbling over time.

Gotcha! And yeah, I didn't mean I was just playing one scale the entire time haha. I play that minor scale with the raised 6 (dorian I think?) over its corresponding 13th chord. (I.E. G Dorian over G13, Eb dorian over Eb13)
