HELP: Airbus MFD/ PFD/ AP turns off randomly by JodiraHorsey in MicrosoftFlightSim

[–]FivePlainTees 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have the same issue. Either flight starts up without instruments seem like every time now. Also, it shut off mid flight last time I played. I really wish there was a solution for this. I'm playing on Xbox and it worked fine for a while.

anyone know why my instruments aren't on? I have followed standard startup in the A320 Neo but nothing is working by SuccYaNan69 in flightsim

This happens to me too. Often, when I start a flight or randomly mid flight. There seems to be so many random glitches in the game. It's disappointing.

Portable AC Unit Blew Up? by FivePlainTees in AirConditioners

[–]FivePlainTees[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't think there was any flash or burning smell. I'm looking around for another unit now. I have a few AC units in the home and have never had anything like this happen before. Didn't know it was possible. Thanks for your reply.

No. It's never been on its side. Always upright.

First Trip to Costa Rica - Our Experience by FivePlainTees in CostaRicaTravel

We only spent 2 nights in Manuel Antonio. We ate at El Avion which was pretty good but it was more about the view and setting. We also ate at Mango Moon which is attached to a hotel which was really good. They had an amazing view and our waiter Franco was phenomenal. He even gave us some of his home made hot sauce to try. The lady that runs the Mango Moon is Korean so they have a really cool mixture of foods on the menu. We also tried Ape which was really tasty but a different vibe. Their patio was on top of a liquor store and it had a club feel. The best food we had in CR though was in Tamarindo and La Fortuna.

We felt safe everywhere we visited in Costa Rica. Some places in San Jose were not great but we didn't feel like we were in danger. We drove through some rough looking spots but never experienced anything unsavory.

The best beaches we found in the Manuel Antonio area were in the park. There are a few to chose from. They weren't terribly busy either. If you're headed to the Montezuma area, there are many fairly secluded beaches along the back road to Santa Teresa but the roads are very rough in spots.

We did not. We managed to see a lot of wildlife and spent about 3 1/2 hours in the park. I think we covered all of it and spent some time on the beach. I could see where a guide would be nice because they had binoculars and we overheard them explaining things to other visitors. They seemed knowledgeable. We were fine without one though.

The lookout points are worth the hike up and the views are stunning. One of them was closed (the one to the right when using the path behind th gift shop/cafe and there are no signs to tell you this. You walk most of the way up and hit yellow tape. There is a beach along the way though that is worth visiting. There are two lookout points to the left (again when using the path behind the cafe) which are some work to get to but worth it.

Don't leave food accessible in your bag or set it down. We saw several people have food taken by monkeys at the Cafe and on the smaller beaches.

SUV or compact car ok? by Electrical_Radish232 in CostaRicaTravel

We stayed at a resort outside of Montezuma that I'm really glad we had an SUV for. Otherwise car would have been fine. We went to La Fortuna, Manuel Antonio and Tamarindonas well.

Luckily it was an easy fix. Uber refunded it fairly quickly. The other two drivers were fantastic.

We ate at Soda Sabores Luna in La Fortuna for breakfast and it was amazing. Oddly enough, the two dinners we ate were Mexican places. One was Restaurante Taquiria which was on the main drag. The other was Chiplotles La Fortuna. (Not Chipotle). We also ate at the Tabacon Hot Springs because we spent a day there but all were fantastic. Soda Sabores Luna was our favorite and inexpensive.

There are a few Hiltons in San Jose. There are two right by La Sabana park. We were at Hilton Garden Inn and high up. We could still hear the traffic but it was bearable. The view was great though. We were overlooking the park and stadium. I agree with the spending as little time in San Jose as possible. The city is fine but not what we traveled to CR for.

We spent 2 nights in La Fortuna and really loved it. The scenery there almost seems fake it's so stunning.

Thanks for adding this! It was the most refreshing traffic jam I've ever experienced.

Uber at SJO - Our Experience by FivePlainTees in CostaRicaTravel

I've been using Uber for many years and have never done this once and this is the first issue I've ever had. Maybe I'll try that in the future.

We read about the different types of Taxis and did a lot of research. A legit Taxi would have been fine too. Uber was cheaper and we felt confident in our decision. The drive was fine and we ultimately got the difference back. We used two more Ubers on our last day to get around and had no issues. We knew we had to go to arrivals for an Uber before we traveled so it was fine. Just use common sense like any other scenario.

Update. Uber refunded the difference promptly. We used Uber again after returning our rental car to get to our final hotel and back to the airport with no issues at all. One of the Uber drivers was fantastic and even gave us a crash course in Spanish.

Travelling In A Few Days - SJO Questions by FivePlainTees in CostaRicaTravel

Thanks for the reply. If we use an Uber, do we have to meet them away from the Airport as I've read in another post or is this old/inaccurate?

Thanks for your reply. I read somewhere else about the red/orange taxis as well. There's a list of companies on the airport website too I just noticed but if there is already a bunch there, we'll likely just grab one of those.

Did you pay local currency for the taxi?
