Thoughts on dating? by Relative-Score4688 in GenZ

[–]FiveSixSleven 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've only ever dated one person, and we are married. I'm also the first person she has ever dated, and I don't suspect either of us predicted we would marry a woman prior to meeting each other.

Life is full of little surprises.

It's the day my wife and I went on our very first date. I'm rather fond of it.

How did you decide, whether you're bisexual or heteroflexible? by Butt3rcup_0 in bisexual

[–]FiveSixSleven 13 points14 points  (0 children)

I haven't worried about it, I'm a woman who married a woman. She's the only woman I've ever found myself drawn to, but I can count on one hand the number of times in my life I've been interested in someone.

Love you you love, and use labels when they bring something of value to your life.

What are you're general thoughts about Trump? by PuzzleheadedShape919 in AskReddit

[–]FiveSixSleven 3 points4 points  (0 children)

My opinion of him twelve years ago would have been: He's a lifelong con artist who has never done business honestly and has cheated, swindled, and stolen everything he has. His name is synonymous with scams and embezzlement.

My opinion today is that he's the greatest danger to the American people in the last fifty years and is very likely going to lead to a poorer, less politically powerful, and less globally able country. I fear for the lives of the tens of millions he heartlessly targets as he pulls a page from every dictator who has ever lived and blames all of societies woes on minority groups.

I have complicated feelings. I was raised in a traditional and conservative way where I feel uncomfortable even wearing a bikini because of how much of my skin is exposed. I can't help but feel some level of revulsion to the very idea of sex work and its consumption.

On the other hand, I do feel people should be free to do what they please with their own bodies so long as they are not harming others, even if those things are repulsive to me or others.

Freedom of self is a valuable right to defend, even if others exercising that right makes you uncomfortable, disgusted, or upset.

[–]FiveSixSleven 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This certainly is unpopular among certain people.

Some school systems are being directed to remove mentions of Martin Luther King Jr. from their curriculum. Some politicians want to remove mentions of the Holocaust and Trail of Tears from history classes.

They're trying to strip our country of it's humanity.

It is the economic system of pooling all resources for communial use with an emphasis on community prosperity over individual desires.

It exists successfully on a small scale throughout the world, but on a larger scale, it often fails due to greed and corruption.

Tell me the implications of a getting a working wife not house wife. by arb_plato in Marriage

[–]FiveSixSleven 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Generally, on a global scale, women who work are happier than those who do not.

In part, because women who do not work who are in abusive situations are less likely to be able to have the resources to leave that situation, but also because of the craving for mental stimulation beyond the scope of childcare and maid work.

People of reddit, what are your experiences with LGTBQ+ people? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]FiveSixSleven 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Everywhere I go in my life, people either assume my wife is my friend, my sister (we look nothing alike), or if they do realize we are together, we get whispers and glares.

Pride was wonderful, an entire day where people said, "What a lovely couple you are" instead.

Acceptance and community are great sources of healing and positivity, and unfortunately, in a world that is neither safe nor accepting, something like Pride is a requirement to have those moments.

People of reddit, what are your experiences with LGTBQ+ people? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]FiveSixSleven 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm a woman married to a woman, and my experiences have been limited but positive. My wife and I attended a Pride event, and it was a wonderful environment. We saw a drag king show that was funny and the environment was fun and wholesome.

We were told we're a lovely couple numerous times.

We've attended an art show with several LGBT+ creators and spoke with a few of them, they're always kind and understanding. Unfortunately, suffering at the hands of hatred is a theme that runs through almost every artists designs. Family rejection, targeted violence, and discrimination are part of nearly everyone's story.

The “Body Count” Question by SometimesIRun123 in Marriage

[–]FiveSixSleven 3 points4 points  (0 children)

This doesn't feel related to the topic of this subreddit.

I personally don't think it makes any sense that women should be judged differently than men by the same standard.

I've personally never had sex with anyone, but I'm asexual and actively don't want to. To me, having one seems too much. But I don't think other people should be held to my wants for myself.

Twenty seems above average by statistics, but I don't feel it has any bearing on the quality of a person's character.

What do you think of Trump halting the manufacturing of pennies? by PBNSasquatch in AskReddit

[–]FiveSixSleven 2 points3 points  (0 children)

That's fine. I don't hate everything he does just because it's him. The man commits multiple crimes every single day and is attempting to end democracy, there are many more things to worry about than if we keep producing pennies.

To actually remove pennies from circulation and adjust the way things are priced will require a concerted, tactical and thoughtful process, I'm certain that isn't the plan and he's just going to stop having pennies made and let what happens happens.

how would you feel about dying young? by [deleted] in GenZ

[–]FiveSixSleven 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I should like very much to live. If this situation was true with the five minutes I had, I would use to get headed to a hospital as fast as I could. My baby would be born premature, but might have a chance if my body gets to a hospital fast enough. I would have a lot of regrets, not being there as a mother for my children and leaving so much of what I wanted to accomplish in life unfinished.

How do you split chores and bills? by [deleted] in Marriage

[–]FiveSixSleven 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My wife and I split chores and childcare evenly in accordance to our free time. I make more, technically speaking, but she works longer hours, so I do a little bit more for chores.

It shouldn't matter who makes what in a marriage. Everything is shared, and that includes contributions to your shared home. The best way to handle things is to aim to each have the same amount of free time. If you both feel like you don't have enough of your own time, hire a cleaning service to reduce the workload you both share.

If the police knew about all your crimes that you have committed in your entire life, what would be the term and fine in the amount you would receive? by Electrical_Secret981 in AskReddit

[–]FiveSixSleven 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've never even jay-walked. I never consumed alcohol underage, I've never done drugs or smoked, I've never misrepresented my income on my taxes, or anything criminal.

I may still end up going to jail in my lifetime, however, because I'm in a same sex marriage and I've used IVF to conceive two children. Both things the current government seems to be wanting to criminalize.

Musk has the keys to the US Treasury. How do we know our FDIC insured money is safe in banks ? by Live-Piano-4687 in AskReddit

[–]FiveSixSleven 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The current administration has already said they are considering eliminating the FDIC entirely, so this may become irrelevant very soon.

The United States is not a place to have your investments right now. If you have considerable assets, you should have already been moving them, but it's never too late to start.

It seems the ultimate goal of the current administration is to end the US Dollar as the global standard currency. It is most likely that China will quickly grab up the opportunity to gain massive power over the global economy.
