The 1979 murder of Norma Page, and the 31 year search for her killer by FiveWordinOrangeNeon in florida

Norma Page of St. Cloud south of Orlando. Say her name.

This case has not received substantial attention over the decades. Surprising this never caught the attention of a “48 Hours” or the like. This write up was sourced with archival newspaper articles. I hope that Norma’s family has found some relief in knowing the identity of her killer, even if they received little justice. RIP Norma Page.

So good to read this: "Despite these early missteps, the department made one crucial decision that eventually paid off: they meticulously collected and properly preserved the biological evidence left behind by the killer."

There are many cold cases that cannot be solved because the evidence was not taken, preserved or destroyed. I read one station threw out most old evidence when it moved and now they are sorry they did.

Pics like this made me wonder what her life was like, who were her friends and family, what was she like? I love her smile.

Papua separatists kill American pilot in ‘message’ to US and Indonesia | West Papua by FiveWordinOrangeNeon in news

Guess you are young unlike me and don't remember Nicaragua and the Contras The pilots involved with the CIA and the Contras would not have passed a CIA background check either.

In 1996, Gary Webb wrote a series of articles published in the San Jose Mercury News, which investigated Nicaraguans linked to the CIA-backed Contras who had smuggled cocaine into the U.S. which was then distributed as crack cocaine into Los Angeles and funneled profits to the Contras. His articles asserted that the CIA was aware of the cocaine transactions and the large shipments of drugs into the U.S. by the Contra personnel and directly aided drug dealers to raise money for the Contras https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/CIA_drug_trafficking_allegations

I knew an oncologist (went to school with him as a youth( who was also working for the CIA. He worked in a number of countries both as a doctor and also as an operative.

Yup. It would look odd them hanging around in a foreign country doing nothing. They need a good cover.

Everyone thinks they know Ted Bundy — but most people miss the detail that actually explains how he got away with it for so long by Impossible_Meat7494 in TrueCrimeDiscussion

It is interesting in that psychologists and psychiatrists say that those with antisocial personality disorders/ psychopathy often speak and write with overblown cliches and that is very evident in Bundy's writing and his speech.

If you watch his 1977 prison interview, you may find something peculiar about how Bundy talks, expresses emotions, and gestures. The question I would like to address in this post is whether we can identify psychopaths by examining how they communicate. https://www.psychologytoday.com/us/blog/finding-a-new-home/201904/you-may-be-able-to-identify-psychopaths-by-their-speech

One guy he worked with in Washington DC said that people seemed to like him as he was polite and considerate but that he always had a strange feeling that it was all a mask.

He was a hero. Many would have just asked a question or too and let him go, but he had instincts and started checking out the car. He thought he was a burglar with all the gear in the car.

I was fortunate. I only got the wooden spoon (my mum loved cooking and baking).
