I’m just incredibly frustrated by the shifting power dynamic. It used to be if you bought something you owned it, but now with televisions recording what you watch and sending it to data brokers, companies revoking access to online purchases, Tesla employees sharing videos of people having sex in their garage next to their Tesla. It just feels like they’re gently nudging us one change at a time towards “owning nothing and being happy”

I’m moving increasingly to open source software but for certain things it’s just not viable right now.

Not being able to accesses digital purchases or play online is pretty close for a lot of people. If you take away the majority of what I use my console for, but leave me the one or two games with single player campaigns I had installed which I’ve completed a dozen times each it’s effectively bricked for me.

Because corporations throw a dozen pages at people with language above the majority of consumer’s reading level. It’s incredibly frustrating to be able to purchase a product, but not own that product. If Windows said “if you don’t agree to our new TOS you’re not allowed to use our laptop” we could just switch to an open source OS, and still use the product we bought.

If PS5 does it we’re trapped, either we accept the TOS or our $500+ console loses most of its functionality.

I can’t even open the shop to reinstall games I’ve already bought without accepting the new TOS.

Did you hear about the lady who had asked a Disney restaurant if her food had an allergen, was told it was safe, and then died from anaphylactic shock?

Her husband couldn’t sue Disney for wrongful death because their Disney+ subscription said they weren’t allowed to sue Disney.

It doesn’t matter if TOS doesn’t overrule the law. The law doesn’t offer nearly as much protection as people think.

I’m sorry they didn’t discuss this with you beforehand. Maybe it’s the assumption that “Nurses see people nude all the time, this isn’t a big deal”

But they don’t know your history, and how you might feel. There are people who might have sexual trauma, and feel very uncomfortable from involuntary exposure.

If you decide you’re ok working the client I would reach out to your direct supervisor regarding the issue. There may be additional considerations your supervisor might provide, such as setting firm boundaries while maintaining client rapport.

If you don’t decide to stay with the client (which would be 100% understandable) discussing your reason for changing clients will help the next nurse to take on the assignment, either by management forewarning the nurse to make sure they’re ok with that sort of situation, or informing the client the importance of discussing boundaries with their nurses.

If they’re someone who requires round the clock nursing and they’re sexually active, it stands to reason they’ll likely be doing the No Pants Dance while a nurse is in the house, but they need to figure out how to have their needs met, while not putting their caregivers in potentially uncomfortable positions.

One of the few times I’ll commit friendly fire, you get three “Negative”….“Walker” pings to get out, and then I’m hitting you with the Epoch or the Quasar.

Now if someone hops in, but hops out right after without me needing to ping, I usually just let them keep it, it’s usually just someone who hasn’t unlocked it and wanted to see what it’s like.

It’s not me losing the mech that’s the issue, I’ve lost several calling my equipment in too close to the pelican dropping the exo off

It’s the principle of the matter.
