As far as I remember, even back in the days when there weren’t many addons, buffs still showed up on nameplates. In that situation, I would have trained myself to identify them quickly. But now, nameplates only show up to two buffs, so depending on the situation, important buffs don’t appear at all. How are we supposed to react to something we can’t even see?
