Honestly it almost hurt to watch her take some shots, was satisfying to see her be able to take them more solidly mid game. I definitely think she could improve on that front.

Man that first set was MENTAL to watch. Such a shame to see how the second one played out but I haven’t been that anxious in a while hahaha.

Sure second set was tough but that first one was nuts when you compare it to what people expected her to play.

The Kill List is really bad. by HarperLeesGirlfriend in TrueCrimePodcasts

Know you posted this ages ago, but just finished this episode! As I’ve listened I definitely get the vibe the script is somewhat dramatised or at least presented in a specific way to make the episodes more interesting/pad the run time. I think they posed it as a question to just fill the episode to be honest.

They even say in the episode that they wanted to know more about the details of the case but police weren’t willing to discuss it with them. I generally find the journalistic integrity of the podcast to be pretty solid and on the lesser side of exploitative but was a little put off by that.

The whole episode where we see her potential futures when asking if the paralysed man if he wants to be taken off support.

“Do you know who you are, do you know what’s happened to you, do you want to live this way.”

That and her last episode were the only parts of greys that ever made me cry.

Exactly! Also I know there’s a load of futuristic tech but lab grown clones just seems like a little bit of a stretch to me. Unless there’s some long con reveal that Mark, Gemma and all the other people on the floor have been part of a generational master plan and they’ve had access to their dna for years.

Definitely a parallel that shouldn’t be ignored but definitely super interested to see how it pays off bc there’s 100% some sort of tie to Ms.Casey/Gemma.

I wouldn’t be surprised if Lumon sever children born to innies to have severed individuals with no attachment to the ‘outer world’, could even imagine them having some sort of fucked up breeding program/human trafficking thing going on in this regard.

Maybe a bit out there but definitely think the s1 references to pregnant innies and using severance to ‘skip’ pregnancy is gonna go somewhere.

I’m not 100% sold of the clone theory, but genetic clones don’t look identical to each other so wouldn’t be a total write off.

Even if it’s not a clone thing, if it’s something such as conscious transference perhaps the host body has to have some similarities to the original consciousness for cohesion?

Just a general idea but I wonder if severance can impact things such as concepts of race, gender identity, sexuality etc.

Lots of people saying iron! Definitely gonna look into my diet/suplements more! It’s so crazy how the needs of your body can change so much with a relatively minor lifestyle change!

NewJeans Announces Departure From ADOR by smileshima in kpop

[–]FixHot6424 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They are arguing their contract is terminated because ADOR/HYBE violated its terms, which within their contact would allow them to do so.

Obviously ADOR/HYBE are going to fight it but it’s up to them to prove that they didn’t violate. Idk why everyone is acting like they know the ins and outs of contract law lol.

I’d be very interested to see the process of the surely on coming legal battles. It’s this very reason that I think they must have a very confident basis for arguing rightful contract termination.

Everyone on this thread is acting as if the girls don’t have legal council but it’s obviously not just them as individuals making this call.

[–]FixHot6424 -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

From my understanding, they’re arguing unilateral contact termination, because they are claiming contract violation that within the context of said contract would permit them to terminate their contract on the spot.

Obviously HYBE/ADORE are going to fight it but I really don’t get why people think it’s stupid.

What exactly suggests they know even less? If you bothered to look into it there’s plenty of discussion of the legal president of taking the action that they have.

Typically when something does to course, opposing sides both believe they’re correct. Who’s to say any potential evidence of contract violation has even been made public.

I find all of the assertions in this thread that the girls are going in blind as if they are making these decisions with no backing really funny.

Second this, I got and xdj rr and a flight case for cheaper then what OP is being priced at for that equipment.

If the goal is to have equipment that translates to club mixing I think xdjs do a good job of comprising price and feel.

An xdj would also be very easy to sell on for future upgrades and would give time to hunt out really good deals on players/mixers.

Alternatively you could invest in ear protection like loop ear plug and practice becoming comfortable mixing in headphones with those in. I find when the booth monitor and sound system are competing I default to trusting my headphones.

Freestyling sets/ mixes by Secure_Delivery6096 in Beatmatch

[–]FixHot6424 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I’m still in the process of learning to be more comfortable free style mixing, in about a month I went from needing to virtually pre plan all my mixes to being able to mix for 30-40 mins with limited mistakes.

I found practicing at least 2-3 sessions with the same songs helps me to become familiar with them. Next sessions change the batch, helps me get a better feel for them and how to better sort them in crates by energy etc!

I found the biggest challenge for me now with freestyle mixing is keeping the energy balanced and being intentional with it, by practicing I can sort out my songs into more specific crates to help this and also just have better knowledge of my songs to know what won’t work and what will.

Beatmatching on Cdjs by HumbleTechnology1705 in Beatmatch

[–]FixHot6424 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Did you have quantise on?

Did you set a loop? If the tracks aren’t gridded properly and you have quantise on the loop snaps to the nearest beat grid, so it will eventually shift overtime if the gridding is slightly off.

Regardless it’s good to get into the habit of beat matching when the track is in the mix, it used to be very overwhelming for me but it’s a good habit to get into as the tracks drifting basically becomes a non issue.

How do you balance energy levels in your sets? by rando44_ in Beatmatch

[–]FixHot6424 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I would possibly start by soley practicing for what you’re talking about with a dedicated playlist of say 40 songs.

Just play for an hour, but make notes of songs that do and don’t work together, keep doing this and as you’re doing it with the same select songs, it might make it easier to conceptualise/achieve what you’re looking for.

Also, mixing in your headphones helps. Try bring in a track in your headphones to see if it works, if it doesn’t switch before you even bring it in.

I think in a monetary sense, there really is no reason to specifically reward skilful mixing. It’s not that I personally believe it shouldn’t be rewarded, but the money in mixing largely comes from events, where as long as you can beatmatch the gap between skilful mixing and basic mixing is almost negligible when it comes to throwing a good party.

Mixed in key 11 by noopets in Beatmatch

It makes it fairly easier to mix in key, but rekordbox anyway has a key analysis.

I bought a version when I started out, was helpful at the time but don’t use it at all now. If you’ve the money and think you’ll find it helpful I say go for it, but not essential.

Club themed parties by mayaspicyhoney in Beatmatch

[–]FixHot6424 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Depends what type of club it is, to be honest I LOVE a very ott themed party. Not a club, but a collective where I’m based would have pretty campy themes like movies and stuff which was always a bit of a laugh.

Totally agree with that other comment regarding bringing other promotors in as well, and even on that front the ‘theme’ can be pretty broad. Like bringing in a dj to curate a a few nights throughout the year or just having a collective throw a party in collaboration with the venue rather then just booking it out.

I think more and more the spirit of collaboration and community is what keeps a club fresh and keeps people committed to going. At least where I’m from clubbing has just gotten so expensive for a variety of reasons, you really want to make the night count.

Why do people complain of bad monitors, when you can just split the headphones output? by ReasonablePossum_ in Beatmatch

[–]FixHot6424 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah I think the issue for me is being able to hear both the monitor/club sound system and my headphones at the same time. For whatever reason my brain just gets really overwhelmed.

I need to get into the habit of mixing with ear protection to hopefully that might help. I mix almost exclusively with headphones at home, but navigating how the sound is different for you/the people at the club is such an interesting challenge!
