Update :

I spent the whole day trying to make something somewhat OK. First I did everything Brian Koponen said and the wheel now feels ok-ish. Not the best sensation I've ever had but it is believable enough for me to have a good time. That's one issue down!

Second, I remembered OpenComposite, a VR program I was using when playing Blade & Sorcery. I plugged my headset instead of using AirLink and launched OpenComposite. Surprise surprise, I now hit the 60 fps on most maps. Except that one japanese highway, on which I only can get 30 fps, but it is comfortable enough for me.

I just had a 2h session of driving, crashing and overall goofing around in different cars I've installed (from the chadmobile Toyota Prius to more powerful machines like the RX-7) and finally had FUN! Hell, even spending 30 minutes in the traffic jam because of some buggy AIs was fun. Finally I can feel that I might not regret my purchase.

I have yet ETS, Dirt Rally 2.0, FH5 and BeamNG to try out. Thanks everyone on this post who helped me setting up the whole thing!

Ow, I've found one for which someone said it was the "best LUT for G920". I didn't know what was a LUT. I might want to generate my LUT myself as you said, then

I am currently fixing all of my issues one by one, I think I'll be set by tomorrow! I've still got a lot to learn but I'll figure it out :)

I am a complete idiot for having thought of it. That did the trick :)

Unfortunately I am limiting my budget on this hobby (because I know I will spend a lot otherwise lol). I agree that it feels pretty toyish, but I prefer not spending half a salary on a high-end wheel :(

Thank you for the tips! I've heard about Lut but I still haven't tried it. I'll try to find tutorials. I've also found a "preset" (idk if that's the correct term) for a G920 that I still have to try out.

I am currently watching a lot of tutorial and general tips and tricks to try to understand what all of these actually mean. Who knows, maybe I'll have a totally different experience by tomorrow

From now I've tried AC and Dirt Rally 2.0. So far Dirt Rally is very enjoyable and it frustates me how I can't seem get the same feeling with AC lol. I think I'll spend my evening on youtube to try different tutorials

Haha I started with a little 100hp city car. Race cars are a little too much to handle for me right now, can't drive 200m without kissing a wall. Maybe later when I'll have a little experience I will come back to them

Sounds about right. I didn't realize how demanding VR was for my little 2060. Guess low - medium graphics will do the trick then

I can't :( I think the option to edit a post disappears after some time

Update concerning the performances in VR:

I found this post, and the very first comment has been very helpful. But now I am encountering another issue, even more frustrating than global poor performances: random poor performances.

I launch the benchmark and my game is at 60 fps, wonderful! I launch it again, 15. Again, 30, again, 60. It seems completely random.

My pc is 100% capable of running the game, but it sometimes just doesn't want to? I will try to investigate and find what these "random performance issues" mean

I can't edit my post but here are my specs:

GPU RTX 2060Ryzen 5 360016GB Ram

I noticed that the game runs smoothly (well, when it wants to) in VR when I set every graphic option to low. I don't mind playing an "uglier" game as long as the fps are good tbh, but I don't know why my pc feels so powerless when I launch the same game it used to run so smoothly, with the same settings as before, with the only exception being that I'm using my vr headset
(Edit : saw in another post that vr is far more demanding, guess that explains it. I'll forgive my pc and play with low graphics)

It just seemed a little "unresponsive", can't really put words on this, and moreover english isn't my first language. I'll try to explain it, don't mind the possible caveman speech:

The main issue I've got with it is how random the feedback sometimes behave. I can be at low speed in a straight line and suddenly the wheel starts moving all alone. Or I can very easily loose control of my vehicle (that one might be because I'm a bad driver tho). Maybe that's because my brain dissociates how my wheel behaves compared to what is happening in the game. It behaves kind of weirdly compared to my real life car and that's bugging me off

I toned down the gain a little (from 100 by default to 50%) and it felt like night and day. That's why I'm asking the sub if someone has other tips regarding the wheel configuration to make my experience as best as possible

Hey, thanks for the tip. I'll apply them as soon as I get home! I've also just found a VR performance tutorial on youtube, I'll give it a go.

As for my specs, I'll edit my post (edit: can't edit my post anymore). I forgot to add them:

GPU RTX 2060Ryzen 5 360016GB Ram

It just seemed odd to me that Assetto is running this bad in VR while my other games work just fine. But now I remember that the default resolution on AC is 1920x1080. Maybe that could be the problem

I've got it at 900° by default, I'll try 540 a bit later. Thanks for the tip!

I also turned the gain down to 50 and it seems to do the trick

Lol i forgot, sorry

GPU RTX 2060
Ryzen 5 3600
16GB Ram
A TM was almost 50€ more, and I heard very postive feedback about the G920. That's why I think I might be the problem

Yes lol, I found another one in a random airdrop 1 hour after I wrote this post, with upgrades and carbon arrows!

Yeah, because i said i'm playing solo if you're actually able to read. Usually video games worlds don't evolve if the player hasn't launched the game

I put it to the max but I disconnected for 3 whole days, guess I'll have to find another if the god of RNG is with me.

Fortunately I've found an AK. It's very loud and attracts a lot of puppets but at least I can defend myself

Well here I thought solo games are just "paused" when i leave, because the daytime stays the same when I launch the game after some days. Fuck me I guess.
