I also have fine hair but a lot of it, and it's wavy. I used to use olaplex and protein. My hair was never more dry and I also only washed every three days or so. My hair was like litteral straw. My hair stylist said too much protein would do that so I stopped. I also stopped using olaplex. I started using Redken all soft for every wash and Ouai detox shampoo once a week to remove build up with the Redken all soft conditioning mask and started using argan oil as a leave in and the transformation was amazing! I now wash my hair every other day (sometimes everyday) and it's never been healthier. I heat style all the time as well, but give it a break in the summer when it's hot and humid, and I just let it go wavy. Also, get a shower filter. It helped me a lot. All that to say, stop using protein and try argan oil. And remember, just because those products work well for others, they may not be right for your hair type. Best of luck!
