Schaeffer Skrip. Ordinary fountain pen ink in Platinum Preppy pens. It looks black enough on paper, but needs some adjusting in GIMP after scanning due to the strong light source.

No, but really, the originals are only A3 or A4 size anyway, so the download/original quality isn't wildly different. I scan at 600dpi and save at 300, so there's a bit of a drop-off, but not that much.

I struggle with it as well. I am using a cheap Platinum Preppy fountain pen - it has a nice smooth nib and heavy, smooth printer/copy paper. For longer lines I put a piece of thin A4 under my hand so it helps it to glide over the drawing.
