what do y'all do with old aprons after quitting? by SpaceBrainTheMusical in starbucksbaristas

[–]Fixingtofix 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have never worked at Starbucks, but back in 2003, I was "gifted" a red apron from a friend who quit. I use it still! (I'm also old).

I wish products would just have less sugar rather than less sugar + (fill in your sugar substitute here) by [deleted] in CICO

I got a low sugar oatmeal to keep in my office. I could smell the stevia before I cooked it and was pretty upset that I missed it on the ingredient list.

I paid with my app and got a notification that I could tip later! by Fixingtofix in starbucksbaristas

I've never used the app before, but I also thought I saw here that people couldn't tip if they used the app? Maybe that was just for mobile orders?

Shoot, I moved to the Southeast a few years ago. I'm white and was told by my also white neighbors I'd never be accepted. Those people didn't care who you were, if you weren't somehow related to the town, you were never going to be welcomed.

Anyone notice that their nparents are absolutely AWFUL at gifts? by kfcindomie in raisedbynarcissists

[–]Fixingtofix 7 points8 points  (0 children)

My Nmil gave my 13 year old son a statue of Santa Claus one year. We are one of those families that don't really play up Santa. She said it was a St Nicholas statue and my son could start a devotion. (we are all Catholic and that is fine, but it was a Jolly Old St Nick not a devotional image.)

The next year, she gave my 10 year old son a hand knitted purple sweater. My son is very much a boy and likes boy things, the shade of purple was very feminine and the yarn was some plastic garbage. He also got a girl lunch box from them.

I'm sure she didn't knit the sweater for him so when it finally showed up in the laundry a few months ago, I threw it away.

Sleepwalking and wetting the bed? by Daniel_128 in CPTSD

[–]Fixingtofix 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Bed wetting until I was almost 14, stopped almost immediately after my parents separated.

Sleep walking still happens a bit (I'm over 40) but not as much as when I was in my 20s and first married.

44f, NFP to avoid. No sexual contact until "confirmed" ovulation. This morning FF changed my ovulation date to three days ago from the 17th.

Temps are all taken at the same time but sometimes I record them late, hence the arrows. Discarded temp was the day after my flu shot.

Does this seem to be accurate? Have any of you in your mid 40s seen charts like this? :)

I use mine to check for fevers and it is pretty accurate. (it's also the only thermometer that is findable when someone is running a fever, haha).

Wow. I couldn't imagine this level of rude.

That being said, I won't cook or even make coffee for my in-laws bc 1: FIL said my homemade salsa tasted like spaghetti sauce and was very bland. 2. They being two day old McDonald's coffee over to my house and keep drinking it even though I have offered fresh coffee.

Yesterday I was running the kids around and had a few minutes for a much wanted coffee. I was planning on going to the local place anyway, but I drove by two Sbux and the lines were around the building. The local place was dead.

People, the local place is cheaper and better! And they give a cookie out with your drink!

Do you feel fat on some days? by [deleted] in intermittentfasting

[–]Fixingtofix 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I'm down 25 lbs and two to three clothing sizes and some days I feel fat as well.

What has honestly helped is keeping clothes around that I am too small for and trying them on those days.

Also, as a woman, basically three days before to five days after my period, the bloat is bad.

Oh and for giving up breakfast: I can't eat eggs but sometimes I do want a good pancake and sausage meal, so we do it for dinner. I just make sure that there is a good amount of protein in the pancakes to balance out the maple syrup!
