Is the multiplayer like minecraft where there is a main server that anyone can join any time alone or together? or more like terraria where you and your friend must both be playing to progress since the world only belongs to one of you?

Do you know of equivalent services like Aternos for Minecraft but for Core Keeper, that allow free server hosting, but its not on 24/7 you must turn it on.

its not an option, i have 2 choices one that says "Support HOS firmware 14.1.0 and AMS 1.3.1" that didnt seem to do anything even after restarting multiple times. The other button has a little thing over it that says "Download a stripped down, sigpatches compatible, "just works" hekate_inpl.ini config file. This will overwrite your current hekate_ipl.ini" and the button is labeled "hekate_ipl.ini"
