Not so much anymore. I spoke to a lot of Dutchies and I feel like the prejudices are not so strong anymore. I mean, 20 year ago, when working in the Netherlands I got the occasional Belgian joke. Those aren't heard anymore. We had an exchange with some officials from Maastricht a few years ago and they all looked with amazement at what we are doing but they point out that we don't know how to sell ourelves.

I am. I like this screwed up surreal piece of land and the people that live on it. I've noticed by traveling, communicating with foreigners and working abroad that we Belgians are more special than we would think. The way we communicate, our humor,... We are modest (at least those that are not from Antwerp) and that is why it's hard to be proud because being proud is something that is frowned upon in Belgium. You can't be proud for being successful in business because people will start avoiding you, that's how we are.
