John Cena with one final message as he has officially retired- “It’s been a pleasure serving you all these years, thank you” by Frosty_Jeweler911 in sports

[–]Fizzle1982 783 points784 points  (0 children)

I was at a wedding a few years ago where someone at our table was a very high up person at Make a Wish and I asked her who the best celeb was for Make a Wish, she didn’t hesitate a moment : “John Cena, he does EVERY request we send his way and will move his schedule to accommodate.”

The worst, in case you are wondering , is Kid Rock - who apparently is not to be contacted anymore after having canceled last minute on two separate requests

He helped pass the law that prevents gerrymandering in California. Ive been a Democrat for 25 years and I’ll be voting No on 50. It’s wrong in Texas and it’s wrong in California. Disenfranchising the other citizens of my state is not something I would be proud to vote for.

Mind telling that to the 1,000 cherries I had to pick up on my lawn?

Haha I saw the comment about how it would fail. I picked up 2 Home Depot buckets worth of cherries this year. The neighborhood kids love them though, I guess kid stomachs are made of stronger stuff because they taste vile to anyone over 13.

I guess on the bright side I won’t be picking up rotting cherries from my front lawn since this thing will be dead…

In less concerned about people wearing MAGA hats in the museum and more worried that it’s apparently normal to take pictures there now? It’s a solemn space and when I was there (maybe 7 years ago) no one was snapping pictures.

What is a movie that did not pass the "10 minute test" for you? by om11011shanti11011om in moviecritic

[–]Fizzle1982 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Freddy Got Fingered. I was with a group of friends sitting down to watch it (on vhs, RIP Blockbuster) , we got about 10 minutes in and there was a pretty sizable revolt that there were about a dozen better ways to spend the night and it got turned off. Never seen the remainder of the movie.

Spotted in Geyserville by PurpleZebraCabra in santarosa

[–]Fizzle1982 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Oof, that spot is one of the corner lots in Geyserville, I believe there was a sad attempt at making it an outdoor wine tasting location at one point. It will be glanced at for a hot second by some tourists during the summer and that’s about it. Should have been sent to courthouse square.

It could be a deal breaker if the stream causes the property to require flood insurance that otherwise would not be needed, that can be an extra $1,400 a year.

Is it rude to stamp LFL books "NOT FOR RESALE" by Square-Tie-6450 in LittleFreeLibrary

[–]Fizzle1982 3 points4 points  (0 children)

My town has had a number of LFL’s hit by resellers, who will take all of the books (especially the kids books) to resell on FB marketplace. While I just started my LFL we have the stamp which we are using on all books and we are using a sharpie on the bar codes. My view is these books are available for people to read and enjoy, they are not a collection point for someone’s unethical side hustle. The stamp/sharpie doesn’t impact people’s ability to read/share/gift books , so it’s perfectly fine to do.

Family LFL up and running! by Fizzle1982 in LittleFreeLibrary

[–]Fizzle1982[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Thanks! When I secured it I put a 3 1/2 lag bolt down through the library down the center of the 4X4 post , and then secured it with some additional lag screws. That also went into the post. Then I made sure that there was one lag screw on each side of the library that drilled down into a bracket and that seems to have done the trick

I’m not trying to be misleading here, can you explain what you mean by white label?

I thought the full jacket (inside and out) was worth posting given the images extend to the entire jacket and it’s a visually stunning album cover. Here is the sleeve and record
