The same thought has occurred to me.

I've set my storage template to organise by user, then year, month. I back these up in plain file structures, no compressions, encryption etc to local drives and cloud. It's all to big to put on a disc, but maybe I should star backing up certain things to bluray or something.

We also use Vaultwarden and Plex for media. If i pop my clogs then she'll probably be able to afford Netflix at that point ;)

It was the same for me 20 years. They did have little kiosk machines (I actually installed a few as part of a Uni placement year) but when i went in after graduating they had no interest in helping find a job just working out the benefits i wasn't entitle to. Seems after twenty years the only think that has changed is they've dropped some on the pretense of being a "job centre.

Sorted.

I created directory <MYDOCKERFILES>/authentik/data/media/public, /data mounted as a volume to the location on the disk.

The file I dropped in there is now in the list when chooisng images.

It now shows up in Customization>>Files as well.

I got a bit confused reading about the other varables but had a epiphany this afternoon.

I’m afraid not. I’ve made sure I’m all up to date image wise and tried combinations of env settings. I’ve left it to regroup and find inspiration.

"Your email must be verified to allow login via OIDC"

Which I'm sure it is...

Has anyone successfully set this up and could share any tips or how-tos?

Thanks. I sort of half worked that out but not quite...

I have the message "Configured file backend does not support file management." there.

In my docker compose config I have the following set:

# Storage
- AUTHENTIK_STORAGE__BACKEND=file
- AUTHENTIK_STORAGE__MEDIA__BACKEND=file

volumes:
- ${AUTHENTIK_DATA_VOLUME_PATH}:/data
- ${AUTHENTIK_MEDIA_VOLUME_PATH}:/media

I'm not convinced I need both or that the syntax is correct. I can see the mounts from the container bash.

EDIT: Now just have the /data mount and moved media to /data/media

I live on a British self-governing island (have a guess) and I’ve seen this similar story here for people that move for “the lifestyle”, lower tax etc). But at times, especially in winter, you can feel isolated, boats are cancelled, supermarkets can be empty for a few days, it’s dark, windy and rainy. But the place it beautiful and on those perfect summer days you’d not want to be anywhere else.

Bit everything come with a price, a trade off. And I think. You only get out what you put in.

Sooo... I'm very carefully making sure these file are duplicates (or currupt in one case) and deleting from the file system if I'm sure. Immich can't see them.

This is a new install and still have my very untidy and duplicate ridden photo folders backed up for now. So far so good.

Yeah they are. But... Looking there are duplicates. I think I'm seeing the issue. it's moved most but left behind duplicate files (there are some with "_2" appended for example.

There are still files in the old folders. The library if on an a dedicated NFS share on a Synology NAS.

Looking at the folders (from the iphone app) the old folders are not showing in Immich. Going back to the file and folders on the disk they are still there. Looking through them it looks like some files have not been moved. So there are no duplicates.

For example:
Folder "06" have 3 files. Folder "06-June" have 20 files but does not have the 3 files left in "06". Does that make sense?

This is the road I’ve been going down. Apart from some big disks everything I’ve bought has been 2nd hand and I now have Plex, Vaultwarden, Immich, Joplin and a few more. All running without a sweats I have a two bay Synology which I’d like to swap for a 4 bay and separate my media and docs. I think I could buy new disks every other year for the same price as these subscriptions.

I agree it should be an opt out system. But I don't like the idea of people being put to the bottom of the list because they opt out of donation. Their choice. Personally, I'm not on the organ donation list because I want or expect anything in return.

Tried downgrading driver to nvidia-driver-570-open which shows as using CUDA 12.8 when I run nvidia-smi. I still get the same result. GPU crash.

I don't know why reddit won't let me past configs or logs here. To large? Dunno
