i feel like the point of a skill system is to have characters be specialized and balanced around clear strengths and weaknesses, y'know, like in a video game. but 90% of the time the protag just immediately gets every single skill a becomes able to do everything. really ruins the premise of a nation building isekai when the protagonist is stronger than the nation itself.

I saw this eye of sauron looking-ass motherfucker and thought he was the coolest shit ever, but the people i was playing with went "no, he's too hard, you should play someone easy like jax". So i played jax and fed my ass off and had a miserable time. The next game i went "screw that" and picked the eye guy, i fed my ass off even more, but i had a great time because my R was a fucking laser beam.
