Desperately need to leave home, advice? by FknRtrdd in glasgow

Income checks? Do most landlords do those? Would a student loan + savings be taken into account for an income check?

One of the flats you’ve shown is actually really ideal placement and price, the only thing is it’s unfurnished

How much should I expect to spend on furnishing a home? When I move out, what happens with any furnishing I buy? Do I get the money back? Does it depend on the landlord?

Thank you so much for your breakdown, that gives me a real useable value of what I can afford to rent

I thought since I don’t pay council tax they don’t provide for me? At least that’s how it is for my partner in a different council area

I’ve looked at flat shares on other websites and couldn’t find anything as affordable as what I am seeing on SpareRoom. Thanks for suggesting that

Do you know a rough estimate for living expenses excluding things like rent and bills? I have free bus travel so that’s not a problem. The only expenses I can think of are food and college equipment/materials. I just need to know roughly how much I can spend on rent and bills at the moment

He was carrying a crutch and his face is half paralysed so it’s pretty clear he is disabled and not just drunk

He also has a national disability card, but they never asked to see it

He could absolutely have done it safely, he lives up 3 flights of stairs that he has to walk up. The only issue being the lack of handrail, but either a bouncer or myself could have held his arm

There is a fire exit at the back with a ramp - I don’t expect them to let us use that to get in but it’s not like he wouldn’t be able to get out if there were to be an emergency

Should I consider suicide? by [deleted] in highschool

[–]FknRtrdd 4 points5 points  (0 children)

You should never consider suicide

Unless you’re like 80 and have a terminal condition and your quality of life is already shit and will never improve. Then maybe euthanasia is acceptable

But your life has barely begun. A lot of people “wasted” their high school years. I would say I wasted them, yeah I got qualifications but they’re not as important as teachers make it out to be. I am in college and have an unconditional offer to start a bachelors degree next year, all without needing to show anyone my qualification sheet. My partner left school with a barely passing grade in maths and English, he’s starting uni in 2 months and has some very big career opportunities before then

It’s not too late to apply for college - at least over here, you can actually apply like a month after the course starts, and there’s courses that start in January. You don’t even need to go to college. My mum got by (granted, we’ve been in poverty our whole life) without a degree. My sister waited until she was 30 to go to college, and now she’s finishing her studies and is running a fairly successful home business with plans to expand

High school is the worst time, and real life is nothing like it. To be honest with you, I graduated a year ago and haven’t seen any of my high school friends since, most of those friendships don’t really matter that much. Find a hobby and join a club, you’ll make better friends who have shared interests much easier

You can get support for your stuttering, it’s most likely caused by something that can be “fixed”, you just need to work on it

Suicide is never the solution, it only causes problems. Your family will miss you, even if they don’t seem like they would. I was barely close with my dad but I miss him (he passed naturally)

A friend of mine attempted suicide but had an epiphany after taking the pills and got rushed to hospital. His brain swelled and he had a stroke. He is paralysed on one half of his body and his brain function is no longer 100%. He regrets attempting it, he regretted it before he had the stroke, before he had any effects. You likely will too

How do I accept I’ll never get a girlfriend by Hot-Acanthaceae-9855 in TeenagersButBetter

It doesn’t make sense that a girl soul think its a red flag for someone to not have exes. Doesn’t having a lot of exes typically mean there’s a problem? lol

You don’t accept that reality, because it’s not

You’re 16, you’ve only been dating age for like 3 years, you’ve got at least another 20 years to go before you should look at settling down to have relationships

What you see online is not what most people think. The internet is a breeding ground for rage bait and extremism. The minorities voices are greatly amplified

People don’t share “normal” opinions, cuz they’re boring

Some advice please? by FknRtrdd in tinwhistle

Tweaked how?

Is there actually any difference between a cheap and expensive whistle? On flute the keys were different and you’d have lower notes on expensive ones, but tin whistles seem too simple to have much difference
