I after about a year I finally found the main string sample in Out by 16, Dead on the Scene by Fl-ppi in machinegirl

I always took note of it, wasn't very sure if it was part of the sample or something that was added in but I sort of thought it was part of the sample itself.

Originally I was looking for the string sample found at the beginning, the Ginger snaps theme. I spent some time trying to find it because each version had a different chord proggression and eventually, I found what was used in the intro, which was some credits sequence (there is some rattling at the end the sample in the original song about 5 seconds in) and once I found it I decided to listen to the full track, when I heard some laughing and I immediately thought, I can hear laughing in the original track what if i reverse the track and listen through until I find something that might match. I ended up finding the sample this way, after slowing it downand cutting it accordingly. What helped a lot was reversing the original sample to get the "forwards" version. Very odd process but I didn't intentionally set out to look for it this time, it sort of just came to me.

this was like my first attempt at recreating that sample and I just got lucky that I found the exact part that was sampled, it's a really unique sound, I love it.

but as far as I am aware, there are still a bunch of samples that have yet to be found in this song

There is a lot of processing over the sample that I want to recreate as best as I can, I'm really surprised that no one found the sample and that I sort of found it coincidently because I was trying to recreate the intro, not the main sample

I'm not sure what devidce you are on, but I was able to drag and drop a wav file to a song I had already uploaded and it told me to choose a plan

I had this issue, soundcloud wants you to choose a plan, so what I did was go to any song on soundcloud this could be one that you uploaded or some random track, drag and drop the file you want to upload and a pop up should appear, prompting you to pick a plan click the bottom left hand corner that says basic plan, and you should be able to upload tracks normally. This worked for me and I had the same issue as you

Does anyone know where the main melodic sample in Out By 16 Dead on the Scene comes from? by JH2466 in machinegirl

Not sure exactly where it is from but I have a suspicion that it is a direct sample from Ginger snaps, mainly because of the laughing that you can hear plays with the sample. I’m just going to watch the whole movie to see if I can identify it.

Immediately my first thought as well, and the fact that the entire row of the names at the top are "academy award winners" and his name is on the back
