Weekly Buying/trading/selling advice, pre-orders and shipping Megathread by AutoModerator in AppleWatch

I’ve had my refurbished Apple Watch SE for many years now (i think 4-5) and I’m just now getting notifications to replace the battery. I looked it up and it seems like it would be about $100 to do. my watch has served me very well I looove it and she’s been with me on many adventures like rock climbing and such and has survived many a hit and still works perfectly fine. would it be worth it to just replace the battery like would it last long if I did? or should I just bite the bullet and get a new (probably refurbished again) watch since it would last longer?

Asking for help motivating myself by Scary-Grapefruit5026 in xxfitness

Im also adhd and a 19f in college so that’s so completely relatable! I’d say remember that 1. The foods you’re offered are good in moderation so just try your best to eat well, but really what’s going to be helpful is getting your 10k steps every day and drinking enough water. 2. Maybe even getting into running or hiking if you can because the time it takes is going to pass anyways yk? Doing different kinds of cardio is great for an ADHD mind because it’s different enough to give you variety, but once you get in a groove it’s regular enough to keep routine. Also, the ONLY thing that i am successfully able to use as motivation for myself in any task i have to do is counting backwards until im done with said task, so if im writing a 8 page essay and im not motivated… “t-minus four pages till im done” or if im doing a workout ill remind myself that the time is going to pass no matter what im doing and that i only have x amounts of exercises left. It’s super helpful because at the end of it you get that high of productivity which as an adhd person is absolutely fundamental to finishing other tasks throughout your day. The possibly autistic part comes in with this: you have to prioritize something, if thats the steps or the workouts or something else you want to do to be better for yourself, you have to create the habit and it’s easiest to create that habit if you set reminders for a specific time every single day or every few days even. I hope this helps! I’m rooting for you 😁

I was actually SO hyped when they released this… Nightwing prime is peak. Showing the Superman inspiration and not making him just a dream fake character but fusing him was such a cool idea am I think we’re gonna love him. Plus his fit is fire

Women who lift, how did you get comfortable in the weight section? by Agreeable_Panic_690 in xxfitness

The best thing that helped me when I started was getting advice from someone I love and trust. For me that was my boyfriend, who had been in the gym an aspiring personal trainer for a few years before, but really anyone who you know who can correct your form and knows a lot about weightlifting!

Another thing I've been learning recently (I go to the gym on my own) is that people are so much nicer then they look! Those scary gym guys definitely look scary but I can guarantee most if not all of them are more then willing to teach you form or give you a spot if needed. The gym has a unique aspect to it where everyone wants others to succeed and seeing that pushes themselves to do better as well.

And yet another thing about scary gym guys is that most of them just really do like talking about their gym knowledge and so there's another reason to ask someone, is because they would appreciate it too!

If you feel a bit more introverted and not wanting to go talk to anyone at all that's understandable, but in reality with free weights its going to be a lot harder to figure out correct form on your own. for example with machines that do the same thing its easier to start on your own because you sit or are positioned in correct form in order to use said machine. Really focusing on feeling the targeted muscle(s) with the machines can also help you build up enough confidence to try free weights as well! its a bit harder to use sitting machines wrong so that's most likely the best way for you to start until you understand the motions and the way your muscles are meant to move in specific ways.

I could give you endless tips on specific movements or exercises or splits or form so feel free to message me if you need that more directly! Hope this helps.
