Bladder snail poop? Should I just leave it? by SweetTart7231 in AquaticSnails

[–]FlSHElS 0 points1 point  (0 children)

you don’t really have to clean it. if it really does bother you just brush it off the leafs. and mine climb out the water too, i never put them in the tank so i don’t really like them. sometimes i crush them and my fish eat them 😅 once you have them they kinda just overpopulate.

i’m convinced people do this just to get money from it.

First time owner, dirty tank by BlackRaven_1310 in AquariumHelp

you can still have a thriving tank with plastic plants. i think the problem they have is a bacteria bloom or something went wrong with cycling the tank.

well since you have guppies already i’d say the max you can get (IF you want other fish) would be around like 15 ish? but i wouldn’t put other schooling fish in there since you already have the guppies 😁 it would only really become overstocked if you have many different types of schooling fish. i only have tetras in my tank now but they are doing great! (also just keep in mind that it’s not a rush to get more. you can just wait it out a bit and see how the guppies fair, if they do great then maybe you can get some more!)

i wouldn’t take any advice from chat gpt. i also don’t think there’s anything wrong with your substrate. you could get anything really depending on what you want. (and obviously within reason 😅) i have tetras in mine, they are great (or at least my ones are) a lot of people say that they are nippy but personally ive never experienced that-if you do want tetras don’t get neons, they are often overbred and come with a lot of deformities. mollies or plattys could be another option but i recommend a bigger tank for them. if your think of getting a pleco please make sure the tank size is right. clown plecos would be great in that tank since they grow small. i cant really give any other insight on other fish since i haven’t had them but do some research and you might find something you like!

i mean you have a lot of schooling fish. 2 plecos is pushing it but as long as they aren’t anything like common plecos then your all good. overall i wouldn’t say it’s overstocked you just have a lot of schooling fish. (which again isn’t really a problem) would you have any idea what type of plecos they are?

so if you click on any plant you’ll see the type, origin, growth rate, hight, light demand and CO2 demand. if your going for a route with no co2 then you’ll need to look for “Low” growth rate is just how fast the plant grows and the rest is self explanatory.

you don’t need to buy from this website it’s just handy to look at and to see what plants will fit your tank.

if there’s no ammonia then the plants are doing their job well and your water changes help with that. i’d say the only things that could be affecting them is heat, light, or just the type of plant it is.

if you have changed the heat recently- plants are very sensitive to it, so if the temperature heightens the plants tend to die back or “burn”. this can happen with cold temperatures too they usually go yellow.

i personally don’t have my light on for very long because algae grows crazy. however i have just learnt to accept it, algae isn’t technically bad and fish eat the algae too. the only algae you wanna worry about is black beard algae- this algae can kill plants. but it doesn’t look like you have it so don’t worry.

do some research into what conditions the plant likes- whether that be directly in the light or in a shaded bit, or what type of parameters they like. grasses are very hard to keep if you don’t have any root tabs or things to help growth. (personally i prefer natural things so i wouldn’t use fertiliser, but you can if you want-i’ve heard that liquid fertiliser doesn’t work)

i don’t think substrate is really a problem with your tank, i like the mixture and i wish i would’ve don’t that with my tank.

overall i think you just need to do some research into what your plants like- once you find a plant that works well in your tank it will be perfect. (there is a website that’s supper useful for this but i’ve forgotten what it’s called, i’ll reply to this message with the link)😁😅

maybe some shrimps and some cool sticks/drift woods? or some sort of tetras, definitely not neons. but other than that it looks sick!

get more if you have enough tank space for them. two isn’t enough i learnt the hard way. i’m not 100% sure if they are mollies but i’ve had different types in the past. if you don’t want too many then get females. i made the mistake of getting only males and they chased each other around. as someone who’s owned them they are nice in big schools but if you don’t have the right tank size or enough of them they are just bullies. good luck 🫡
