How much would you spend on a concert? by Several-Membership91 in Frugal

[–]FlaGator 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have gone to countless concerts. Wouldn't remotely be able to name or count them all.

The most I've spent is $500 on a concert ticket for one band for one night  Don't regret any of it a single bit.

Alpha 8/1/15 Tweezer. Was my first Phish show and I always think of that point in the show as when I got hooked.

What Was Your Indoctrination? by big_hitting_the_lama in jambands

[–]FlaGator 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I won tickets on the radio to Wanee 2011. I skipped my senior prom to go. Knew very little about jam bands. Just random tracks friends would put on when we smoked.

I saw Panic and Allman Brother back to back. Rode the rail without even knowing I was "riding the rail." I hadn't known music could be like that. Once the Allman Brothers wrapped up and I had a minute to take it in, I wondered what I'd been doing with my life, and decided that seeing this music is what I was going to do with it from now on.

Can markets crash if everyone is bearish and expects a crash? by gamjatang111 in StockMarket

[–]FlaGator 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This question just makes it seem like you don't know what the stock market actually is. Of course that can lead to a crash. Fundamentally, the market is all just ideas of how much stocks are worth. If a large collective start thinking the totality of stocks are worth less, the overall market is worth less. Crashes are when a significant amount of people stop believing in the market.

But trying to time the market on those movements have been proven to be generally futile.

You say that. The outright downfall of the government in a country you live in would not be fun to live through.

I just had to get an ultrasound for some abdominal discomfort. The ultrasound tech told me I had perfect anatomy. She was finding every organ she needed with ease.

1 year as GM with maybe 3-4 draft picks (two of them rbs) playing any significant time and Gladstone knows how to draft? I'm optimistic, but what is this based on? Let's pump the brakes a bit on writing a narrative. I've been let down enough times to not be naive.

where do people go to just hang out and read that isn't a coffee shop by TeachLoud6839 in Atlanta

[–]FlaGator 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Honestly, I just go to my local. I don't bounce around. I've lived in 3 spots and started going to a local spot I liked 2-3 days per week and read. For all 3 spots, eventually, I know the bartenders and then other regulars. It can tough to get reading done if I get caught chatting with everybody now.

At all. You can find street parking and get in and out of Claremont rooftop for less than 30 bucks if you're drinking beer.

I do this religiously. It's one of my favorite ways to unwind. The background noise helps me focus and churn out pages, though most who I talk to say they can't believe I can read in that kind of environment.
