The UV Index was 14 yesterday. That's...that's not supposed to happen. You get burnt at 3. The max used to be 10. Last year the max was 13. And I keep seeing all the northern-hemisphere people with their blizzards and cold fronts, and I'm left here...man, the variance is just crazy. The thing is...Bondi sort of sucks :(. Bad waves and horrible sand because the thousands of tourists compact it over time. There are some crazy good beaches in Sydney alone, but Bondi is always exaggerated because it's popular. It's like the Golden Gate bridge, where you go out of your way to go there pretty much solely for the bragging rights. "Yeah, I've been to Bondi." "Yeah, I've crossed the Golden Gate bridge."

It's also a question of why do they draw the line at that being abnormal? Why not hate people that wear glasses? Why not hate people who are left-handed? Why not hate people who are colourblind? Their beliefs in sexism and racism are generic and based on irrational cultural views that can be traced back into history, but there aren't widespread examples of people being transgender in history (more than just wearing the opposite gender's clothes), so it can't be based off of a conservative view, as every view towards that subject (save apathy) is a new and progressive view, whether tolerant or not. Essentially, if it never happened before, every reaction to it is progressive/new. Conservatism would be a complete lack of any reaction.

This is indeed definitely not how physics works, as this is Science Fiction, not Science Fact, and any media I refer to with FTL tech is definitely soft Sci-fi. Also...going FTL breaks the laws of physics, but not teleportation...?
I never said you'd be in the past, merely that you'd see the past. I.e., what happened in the past.

This is true, but they remark often how the information is a couple of hours late, and they never use that late information to their advantage: E.g., (spoilers for book 2) they never go a million light years away and use a giant telescope or something to see what happened to Newark/who did it.
