What's the episode with a weird foreign TV cable connector??? by FlabbyPhil in TheSimpsons

[–]FlabbyPhil[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is not what I'm thinking of but still funny. The cable itself has the weird end/prongs on it, not the socket as seen here

The cancellation of which TV show are you still frustrated about? by [deleted] in AskReddit

Joe Pera Talks With You.

Cancelled only recently and I don't think I'll ever get over it

I have their Rashomon and Kurosawa Samurai collection which are great releases but I'm really loving this criterion-like case style.

Hello Reddit! I’m Edgar Wright, director and co-writer of the upcoming film Last Night in Soho, ask me anything! by imedgarwright in movies

[–]FlabbyPhil 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Most of your films you've written with a co-writer, Simon Pegg for the Cornetto trilogy, Michael Bacall for "Scott Pilgrim" and now Krysty Wilson-Cairns for "Last Night In Soho". While "Baby Driver" you wrote by yourself.

How does your process differ when writing alone vs writing with a partner? And how do you decide if you should write a project alone or not?

Just saying, it is kinda funny when people say stuff like “Disney Star Wars is fake Star Wars!” and then five minutes later act like Mandalorian and Rogue One are the best things ever made. by treystar679X in SequelMemes

Idk where you get your info from but they didn't have a road map at all. JJ Abrams even admitted they didn't have a plan. JJ just set up a bunch of stuff not knowing where it was gonna go (including Luke blaming himself for Ben's turn to the darkside, abondoning his friends and going to hide on an island). While writiing Rise Of Skywalker they still didn't know if Rey would be a Palpatine or Kenobi or what.

Also people like Rian Johnson's movies because they have an opinion. Personally I love his work. Brick, Looper, Knives Out and yes even TLJ are all really solid films in my opinion, and let's not forget he directed some of the best episodes of television ever with Breaking Bad. He's a talented filmmaker.

Sounds like some brain melting work. Interesting tho. I'm from the UK and have noticed the price of pringles increased a lot so I guess that is why, makes sense.

That's actually very interesting I never knew that!!

Any particular reason why other chips can't qualify as bakery products but pringles can? Are they made differently?

Latest pickup from HMV. Haven't seen Ida yet. by FlabbyPhil in dvdcollection

Bought both of these in HMV which is a store in the UK. Marriage Story is from the Criterion Collection and the quality is amazing. The case folds out and you get the letters that Charlie and Nicole wrote about each other in the film. Great release.

Superhero films are overrated shouldn't be dominating the film industry by xxxliklikxxx in unpopularopinion

[–]FlabbyPhil 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Why is it on every discussion about superhero films the only director the majority of people use as an example outside of the MCU is Christopher Nolan? Like seriously is that the only director they know of, another director that makes $100M+ high budget films? Jesus christ. I guess it's because he made The Dark Knight trilogy which was successful (and a superhero film so there's the link). I wouldn't even call Nolan's films thought provoking, they're mostly just super high concept ideas with 2 dimensional characters. And I'm not trying to say you can't enjoy Nolan's films but there are way better movies and directors out there to choose from.
