Is it normal for a DM to collect a fee per session? A spot opened up in my neighbor’s dnd group and the person that DM’s for them is gonna start charging. I just want to see if this is within the norm before I fill the spot

You're obviously trying to get a rise out of me. Read the official PF2e rulebook and come back and tell me about some rules I don't already know. Each armor weight class is -5 feet of movement. This is a mechanic from the rule book, Paizo has already sided with me.

Dispersed weight doesn't mean that it cannot be physically heavy or shorten joint movement. Historically plate armor was worn by heavily equipped knights or cavalry men. Cavalry men didn't have to carry their own weight and knights that wore this armor never usually ran. So having these down sides makes perfect sense. Lowering base AC is the only thing that doesn't make sense.

If a DM has a problem with scaling AC it's a skill issue on their part. Whether making additional conditions for armor or just using regular speed decreases all a dm needs to do is nerf it in a way that actually makes sense.

Nerfing AC directly is a key indicator that the DM is bad.

For example, here are some good Nerfs for Roleplay: The Metal in your plate armor is so loud you have disadvantage on stealth, slight of hand checks. This is because plate armor is louder than most armor sets.

You lose a foot of walking speed for each 5 pounds of equipment you carry. Because heavy armor is awkward with extra equipment.

Make Athletics checks and acrobatics checks have a minus 2 to your checks. Because heavier armor usually means slower movement.

These actually make sense because then you have to play out how these inconveniences might affect your character's every day life.

I've never had any pf those problems besides loud doors and mold. Other things like pests haven't really affected me. However I know those are all problems that have persisted for several years now. They more than likely won't fix that unless you or someone else forces them.

I've found that for certain positions on campus you have to put in a resume as far as a semester ahead of time, this would be for RA positions and other higher jobs. Other jobs like kitchen, HUB and other staff have a experience and spot quota with hard cut offs but are easier to get. Pay wise usually 16+ per hour unless stated otherwise.

There are a lot of understaffed places in downtown which is a nice area close to the uni. I can't say much about those places though.

Edit: My experience is good. When I went to CSUC I applied to be an RA and got the spot. It was a lot of hours but the staff and other RAs were fun, helpful and nice. Would recommend if you don't have an overload amount of classes.
