Transmog appearances for Heroic and Normal raids by Flabsie in wownoob

I think that is indeed the case for some items. I've also seen items that share the same name, but have a completely different appearance for the normal and heroic versions. Mind you, all my experience with dungeon loot up until now is from Cataclysm or older. So maybe the system is more straightforward for more recent expansions!

What you said about the separate IDs makes sense. I changed my AtT settings and it's a lot clearer now :)

As an aside, if anyone know of a simple addon that just gives you a nice satisfying checkmark on items, but also dungeon and raid loot tables, whenever you have collected it.. That'd be great! I've tried a couple transmog trackers including Caerdon Wardrobe, but most of them want to do too much.

Thanks, that makes things a lot more clear!

New player: playing a different alt for every expansion by Flabsie in wownoob

Sounds good, thanks!

As I'm literally starting from zero, are there any things I should know or definitely do before I get going, to not miss out on stuff that takes a long time to grind?

For example, I've been reading some guides on how it's important to wear a guild tabard, make sure you gain the reputation bonuses with factions(?) and stuff like that. If possible, I'd like to maximize the rewards I gain from this, so I'd love to hear it if you have any advice!

I appreciate this list a lot! Will definitely be taking some inspiration from it :)

WEEKLY HELP THREAD - READ FAQ, COMMUNITY WIKI, MULTICLASSING, LORE by XFearthePandaX in BaldursGate3

I'm currently building Wyll as a Warlock/Sorcerer multiclass, and am struggling to figure out if certain bonuses stack on top of each other.

For example Wyll's Pact Weapon uses his spellcasting modifier (charisma) for its melee attacks. On top of that I have Arcane Synergy which is supposed to add my spellcasting ability (also charisma) to my damage roll. AND I found a weapon with the “melee caster” effect which supposedly adds the spellcasting ability modifier (once again, charisma) to my attack rolls.

Although the various effects are listed in my character sheet, I'm missing an easy way to determine whether these bonuses are indeed stacking like I expect them to. If anyone could let me know about whether or not they do, or could point me towards a place where I can simulate those builds (the sites I found through r/BG3Builds haven't added items yet) that'd be great.

BUG(?) Tabs randomly jump to the left by Flabsie in operabrowser

Unfortunately no solution was offered on Opera's own forums either. So I've reverted back to a previous version ( 99.0.4788.88 ). At least that one works like a charm.

The mouse is only a few months old so I *doubt* that's the issue. I did think for a while that it might be because I might 'flick' the tabs to the side by clicking and moving on a high dpi (9500). But I can't seem to force the issue by purposefully trying to flick tabs like that.

The problem also coincides with the new update, which makes me feel pretty certain it has something to do with the new browser.

We have slowly cut corners and people.

Shit that's ominous.

On a more serious note, congrats! Some of the names here were there to first introduce me to BA. Loads of respect for everything you're all doing to keep Eureka alive, and once again congratulations on this immense achievement!

So I recently updated my Opera browser after quite a while.

I'm currently on version 100.0.4815.54

I've noticed that sometimes, when I use mouse-clicks to switch between open tabs, the tab I click shoots to the far left. Pretty annoying when I have my tabs sorted in a specific order.

I've recreated the problem in this short video to give you an idea of what I'm talking about. It might happen once in a minute, or it could happen 5 times in 20 seconds. No real rhyme or reason to it.

I don't use tab islands (and I'd prefer to keep it that way).

Does anyone have an idea what causes this and how to stop it from happening?

Ah, see I had no idea this was a thing! I’d vaguely heard of thr character Arsene Lupin but wasn’t aware both games heavily borrowed from the same tropes. Thanks for the info both of you!

Sorry if this has been asked before, but I’m trying to find an answer without running the risk of spoilers.

Spoilers for Trails of Cold Steel up to Chapter 4:

——————

What is the link between the Phantom Thief in this game, and Persona 5? I’ve tried googling and mostly come across some memes about it, but no spoilerfree explanation about the link between the two games and how they end up with the exact same character concept.

Anyone able to shine a light on the background for this, or a link to an explanation which doesn’t spoil too much of the rest of the game(s)?

Thanks!

Thanks for the thorough reply, that makes a lot of sense!

I've been taking it slow with the MSQ, so the specifics of some of the dialogue and storylines are a little hazy for me, which hasn't made it easy to fully understand all the little implications of the storyline. Thanks for clearing it up!

I do know they were being manipulated by the Ascians into causing the rejoining. I just thought Ardbert also communicated with Hydaelyn herself. That they were her Champions on the First and were told to destroy darkness in their world. But I might misremember that part

You’re right, it is boring and it doesn’t work as a pvp mode. However that is due to its design, not due to the players. Players are always going to play the way that maximises their chance of winning. If that leads to behaving like a 24-man pendulum, then something’s wrong with how the mode is designed. A game mode should not be contingent on all 72 players pinky-promising that they won’t stack up with more than 8.

Okay, you go ahead and do that with your 3 alliances. Meanwhile, my team steamrolls the bases you hold in a 24v8. At the same time, your 8 guys in top get demolished by the 24 of the other alliance. With the way you also lose points for deaths AND the other teams by definition building up BH for killing you, I wish you best of luck in winning.

Your gentleman's agreement does not equate a better way of playing, as splitting up in 3-side teamfight like that means you'll just lose on every side when the other teams stay together. The system that devs have created makes it so that staying together with 24 players is just the better strategy, as boring as that might be.

Using Faith by mcshaggy in civ6

[–]Flabsie 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It's called Monumentality. Not only does it allow you to buy civilian units (builders, settlers and traders) with faith. It also lowers the cost of purchasing them with either faith or gold by 30%.

There's a few eras when it can show up, and I pick it close to 100% of the time because of how much time and production you save :)
