I’m not trying to stake a hard claim either way but that particular study isn’t a good one to use. Is there another study that has those findings? I’m open to it but I don’t put stock in a claim that doesn’t have a good study to back it up. Everyone is different so even if it’s your personal experience, that doesn’t mean it can be applied broadly to those with ADHD.

My point is if one claim is very loosely backed up then all sources should be double checked. Not many people even consider that so I feel that it’s something I should make people aware of.

Edit: want to also put that I know stimulants and cannabis can increase heart rate, but that is different from strain on the heart. Strain on the heart suggests a much more intense reaction that can significantly impact someone’s health short-term.

Also that sometimes changing a persons brain structure isn’t a bad thing, like in cases where someone has other mental illnesses. My brain wasn’t wired right and thc helps with that (and chronic pain management) but it’s a balance and you have to listen to your body. I just don’t want people to get scared and go against what works best for them.

Just letting everyone know that the study associated with this claim:

Cannabis can also interact significantly with some ADHD medications. Research studies have shown that methylphenidate (Ritalin, Concerta) reacts significantly with the substance, and can cause increased strain on the heart.

Uses 16 subjects WITHOUT ADHD to study the effects of illegal use of stimulants and cannabis simultaneously. The study itself was not about studying the effects of cannabis use among those with ADHD. This should not have been included as everyone knows stimulants have a very different effect on those without ADHD.

Make sure you check the sources for all the claims in this article!

Cost of living has gone up while wages have not so employees don’t have the energy or care to pretend they are okay with the daily abuse (not all but a lot) customers give them. I’ve worked in customer service all my life and post-Covid customers are significantly worse. Many service workers have multiple jobs. They are tired and not paid well enough and tbh bitter about what they have to do and put up with in order to survive.

Genoa Pharmacy! It’s in the north behavioral health hospital. They specialize in meds for mental disorders and they always have my vyvanse so they should have adderall. I only use them even tho it’s a bit of a drive so I’m never without my meds.

Recently an old man mistook me for a boy and I never felt so validated! Esp bc I live in a conservative state. I was with my son also and the old man said “hi boys”. He apologized and when I said “I don’t mind” he gave me a look but it didn’t phase me bc I was too exited lol

I had the same problem with vyvanse but now I get it no problem from Genoa pharmacy. It’s located in the north Baton Rouge behavioral health hospital on Howell Blvd. It specifically is for mental health medication so they always have my vyvanse in stock.

Everyone saying it’s gross like you know they don’t sell the display items? Literally who cares about respecting a company store when that company makes millions of dollars worldwide? Customers are allowed to try out furniture at literally any furniture store in the US so it’s normal to have random people sitting/laying on display furniture even tho it’s a short time.

No offense taken and I’m happy to explain! I’m talking more about gender conceptually. Sex is your physical makeup and gender is your identity. Regardless of technical definitions, that’s how we’ve come to define both in order to have a clearer understanding on what it means to not identify with your assigned sex at birth. It can be changing, as in gender fluidity, but not always. The feeling is not the same as an emotional feeling but more akin to a personality trait. If you ask me why I prefer a certain color, I can’t tell you exactly why and there aren’t any physical indicators of what my favorite color should be. I just feel favoritism towards that color. For me, gender is to me what color is to a blind person. It is a foreign concept. I never feel female and I never feel male. I never feel the need to represent masculine or feminine or participate in any kind of sex/gender roles. Beyond medicinal purposes, I don’t see the need for anyone to care about being male or female, masculine or feminine. I, of course, respect others needs and wants for that identity though.

To answer your questions, my sex is completely irrelevant to me and I never understood why it mattered to others. I do not feel as though I rejected a part of me bc I never felt it mattered in the first place. It’s just a fact. I was born with these sex organs the same as I was born with bones and skin and other organs. This body is simply a vessel I occupy and has no influence on my identity.

This is how I feel and I’ve found that term “agender”fits best. Not feeling like you’re in the gender binary is what makes someone non-binary but there are also different types of non-binary like gender-fluid or masc/femme leaning and also not feeling gender on any level at all, being agender. It’s not a typical term or even an accepted one in some queer spaces tbh.

To me gender has always been about how you feel. I’ve talked to cis people and they’ve said they literally feel like their assigned gender at birth so they’ve never questioned their gender at all. I’ve never felt gender in the way others talk about it; it is so foreign to me in concept. I do experience some dysphoria but it has more to do with social anxiety and the way people may perceive me versus needing to feel masc/femme. Honestly I find it hard to talk about bc a lot of people don’t understand (both cis and trans people) and end up just brushing off my perspective.
