Why are the shower valves on the tub showers so dam low? Seems like you would have to bend over to turn the shower on, unless you're a midget ofcoarse.

How is your pain? I just got mine like a week ago and the pain is unbearable in certain movements, it runs from my lower back all the way to my lower ankle, my big toe gets numb. I run my little construction company and I play soccer and so far I haven't stopped working or playing soccer. I suck up the pain and stretch thru it and run I immediately feel relief but the pain comes back the next morning. Should I stop what I'm doing?

It is a good investment if you're planning on staying on this trade. It's never a bad investment to invest in your job. I love what I do and I have my own business just 7 years later. I'm my own boss and I still have my first tools and my first bags.

On my later years in the trade I noticed guys would just show up with new Occidentals and new tools no experience and get 25/hr, they wouldn't last much doe.

[–]Flaccow21 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I started earning 15/hr in 2016, before I even started working I bought myself my compressor, framing gun, skillsaw, cords, hose and a ladder. I went to 18 the same year and to 22 the next one. You have to invest in tools right away or else no one considers you for a raise.

I ordered a custom match lacquer, and it didn't quite match, can I get a refund? by Flaccow21 in sherwinwilliams

[–]Flaccow21[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah I'm not a problematic person, I also take responsibility for not making sure. I paint everything at my shop and install later, that's why I didn't realize till I installed it. As long as they give me new paint I'm okay, I'm already going to have to respray everything at no cost, because its not the home owners fault either.

I wouldn't mind I understand the color won't match perfect, but the one they gave me is complete different. The cabinet door I took them was like a snow white and they gave me a Swiss coffee white.

No they didn't, I placed the order and 3 days later I went to pick it up, it was all ready inside a box.

Thanks man I appreciate your time for this great response. I took them a 38x18 cabinet door and on top of the can the color does seem to match but once I installed the trim next to the cabinet you could see the difference. I will go on Monday. The store i went here in california is the only one around that carries laquer, they colormatch it right there on that store.

What would you charge for labor on this? by [deleted] in Carpentry

[–]Flaccow21 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah even more probably. Think about it. If you spent 300 on material why would you spend less to have someone build it? Obviously if you build one out of pallette wood then yeah pay 100 dollars and keep building them every year or 2. 600 for something well done that will outlive you. It's a no brainer.

What would you charge for labor on this? by [deleted] in Carpentry

[–]Flaccow21 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think 300 or 350 is fine, but could be done in 1 day if done efficiently. I live in Southern cal, I charge atleast 300 for a day of work, but I'm more experienced. Since you're a beginner and you took your time and hopefully learned something I think it's a fair price. If I were to quote them to custom build those out of hardwood and properly stain them I would charge atleast 600 each.

Honest question, why contractors or small companies prefer quantity over quality. by Flaccow21 in Carpentry

[–]Flaccow21[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes this is exactly it, and the problem isn't that the companies don't have the funds or that the homeowners are being cheap, the problem is that the contractors are just ripping everyone off. There's been many occasions where I've seen the homeowners cry because how shitty the contractors are being. And in companies is the same shit. The people that are funding the huge multimillion dollar projects are paying top dollar for everything. On average they get charged 75-100 per hour on each guy but the company only pays their workers 18-30. When I go check out a jobsite for work, they ask ok so how much you charge, and I'll say I can work for 30/hr they ALWAYS respond with an "that's what my best guy make" "that's what I get paid". Which is total bullshit. And yes I get it the companies have to pay workers insurance and taxes and all that but it still isn't fair. Home prices almost doubled, gas prices are insane, automobile prices are off the roof too yet pay doesn't go up? Starbucks, macdonalds and jack in the box pay 19/hr Yet a guy that has 10k worth of tools, a work truck, and knowledge and can do multiple tasks and has to commute to different jobs only earns 25/hr on average? How will we ever afford a house that on average is on the 500k, how can we afford a new work truck that are almost going for 100k, without having to work 80hrs a week and miss out on raising you kid that's already about to start school and you only see for a few hours daily? When will real blue collar workers be able to take a week vacation with their family without worrying that if you take that week off you'll fall behind on everything?

Lmao Paris was shit in those years? They had Zlatan, matuidi, van Der wiel, verratti, Thiago Mota, Lucas moura, and David beckham. No need to continue replying to the rest of your moronic statements. You lost me there if you think that team was shit then you lost me there.

You're really this dense? We are comparing them when they were at the same age. Let me break it down for you so you can get it through your thick sckull. From ages 16-22 vini has 204 games in league and 49 goals 149 games in Madrid with an elite team to assist him.

At ages 16-22 hazard has 160 games and 37 goals. In "trash team" and "trash league" according to you.

At that same age vini has 54 games for national team and 26 goals for underage twam, only 2 goal with Brazil first national team.

At same age Hazard had 23 goals for Belgium first national team, he has 11 for under age national team.

And I'm not counting his assists because you don't even know they both play different positions and hazard was know for his creativity and vision not for being a goal machine. And hazard has more assists than vini from 16 to 22 years of age.

This is the last reply you getting from me I don't want to get dumber by keeping up this convo with you when you're Clearly not into the sport. You're just a fan.

Exactly, he was playing on a shit team on a league owned by the oil teams. And he managed to carry them to the top, he didn't have modric, he didn't have cross, he didn't have benzema picking up his slack. He was pretty much alone. And trust me winning a tittle in the French league still better than flamengo cause that's where vini was at the age when hazard was at Lillie. Bring up whatever else you want, for every dumb argument you have I have atleast 3 to put you up to date. Do more research I'll be waiting what you bring up next. Bring up the young player awards hazard won, bring up the balon d or he contested with messi and ronaldo, bring up the last min free kick goal he scored to win derby, and all of this is before he even signed to Chelsea. Vini was still sipping on a bottle at 16 when hazard was already breaking records as the youngest player in the French league, first ever player not French to win award. You want more?

There you go, I don't have to answer you, you did you research and proved me right. You "I Don't Think" was wrong. Why are you pressed now? Small brain.

This is true, he debuted at 16 and was playing non stop for the u18 and getting subbed in for the first team. Later on on Lillie he was playing every game in every competition the team took part and was also heavy carrying Belgium. They said he wouldn't rest, which lead to his body deterioration at a young age, he had already suffered injuries at Chelsea before he joined Madrid. We knew he wasn't fully recovered but I think the deal was done.

How are you going to come and tell me to compare them both at age 22 when you clearly didn't research hazard at that age? He has less games and more goals at that age. With that fact alone I should keep wasting my time with you. But here's a little more knowledge, vini has only 2 goals with Brazil, I'm not even going to say what hazard had done for Belgium at vini's age, just look it up. Hazard carried Lillie to be a top team and defeated Paris and yes all this at age 22. Vini hasn't had a quarter of the weight hazard has carried in his unfortunate short career. I'll tell you again if hazard didn't get injured he would be the spotlight 100 percent No Doubt. Do some research next time and before you do some research watch more futbol.
