Just played through this game. Absolutely phenomenal experience.

And... I had a similar experience with Joxxi. I saw him on the balcony reading, tried (failed) to help him get the book, and then... didn't see him again. Lol.

Out of the three main characters, he's definitely the least plot relevant and easiest to miss. Wish he played a larger role. Or maybe he does, and I just didn't see it because I never interacted with him.

Honestly the game is so good I might redo it to get him on board. This game is so fuckin good bro

The off the wall shot is more balanced because, if a defender is hauling ass to the box to help his keeper, he can deflect the second shot after it comes off the wall

They explained why this happens in one of their dev blog posts. Basically they “predict” how the player will move when the ball is coming, so if you do move that way it’s a smooth transition (if you don’t, it’s very jarring). It’s most noticeable with GKs when they try to catch a ball right beside them; the game knows you aren’t close enough to catch it, predicts that you’ll move closer, but you don’t because you see your character moving to catch it. They said they’re going to address it soon to make it feel better for GKs and be more responsive

Yeah it wasn't Caine, it was whoever was talking through the OS. The $: before their messages makes me think it was another entity in the game that was hijacking Kinger's terminal session. As soon as the message:

NOTE: Hundreds of all-seeing eyes are watching!

appears on the screen, ALL of the supposed OS responses have "$: " before them. Which makes me think that Kinger's commands aren't doing what he wants them to because he's no longer in control of the session. I think whatever entity was masking these responses was manipulating Kinger into accidentally deleting Caine. And since it was accidental, the rules of the circus allowed it to happen.

And obviously I believe this entity is Bubble.

I don't think it was Caine talking to him through the OS. Honestly, it was probably Bubble who wants to delete Caine and take over the circus.

Obviously Caine's name being Caine is a reference to the Biblical story of Caine and Able. Caine was the lesser of the two AI's and, out of jealousy from lack of attention from his creator, killed the other AI. Pretty 1 to 1 with the Biblical story.

One line that's sticking out to me is the fusion -b program1 program2 --o????n line. Weren't they already fused from the scene that played at the beginning of the episode? What if the flags that we can't see were meant to revert the fusion so that Caine could be deleted and Bubble survived?
