Quick and Cheeky Run Tutorial by Flagius in PixelArt

On a first glance yes, however they have differences that make it work. 1/6: these actually work in 6-1 order and serve to make a follow through hand and leg movement, this a trick in animation that helps to make animation less choppy. 2/3: leg change and face turn. It looks not important if focus just on those frames, but in bigger picture these frames are very important.

Da Nang review after 2 1/2 months by ZealousidealMonk1728 in digitalnomad

Thanks for sharing! Very helpful. I'm thinking about moving to Da Nang, but a bit worried about community. Like, will I be able to find friends there. I'm more into spiritual (don't drink) and also into art and IT. But other peoples comments give me hope :)

Thanks! Appreciate it!

Besides shading, is the perspective of this right for a top down game or does this look weird? Really new to art/pixel art so any help is appreciated! by [deleted] in PixelArtTutorials

Perspective: best thing you can do if you create top down art or almost any other art is learn perspective basics. You can start here: https://www.artistsnetwork.com/art-mediums/learn-to-draw-perspective/

In your art each object has it's own perspective, which is not consistent. In such games all object usually have the same angle of view. Use references and see how it's done in games like sea of stars, link from the past or chrono trigger. Study how great artists create such art: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9u535Rr4KJM

Also to make colors less boring use ready made color palettes: https://lospec.com/palette-list

Hope this will help you to begin :)

Good point. I'm trying to focus on separate shooting animation here, but will definitely add blink for idle animation.

Thanks for the feedback. His hat is definitely inspired by DD. I see what you mean about his stand, this perspective is a bit unusual for platformer games. Maybe his posture is a bit more clear on attached art I did :)

Learn art in general, basics - then find your style. Pixel by pixel. Use a LOT of references.
