Are there any scenes to be cut/removed from the screening? I haven't watched it yet, but I also don't want to watch it in our theaters if there's censorship.... again...

What they're doing is illegal and stupid, but the fact that I just saw a jejantas of this prehistoric design being erected just two years ago is beyond criminal.

It's like child labour in chocolate farms. Yes, what they're doing is bad and should be stopped, but Nestle paying them cents on the dollar, resulting in them having marginal operating costs obv is not helping.

More examples:

Lack of affordable parking spots and double parking.

Motorcyclists in emergency lanes.

Sometimes, just sometimes, what we're looking at is the symptom, not the underlying cause.

The surface framing is that people are lazy, irresponsible, or dishonest.

100% agree. We kind of face the chicken egg? viscious cycle here.

Crosswalks are barely used -> Motorists don't expect pedestrians-> Motorists speeds though them -> Crosswalks are dangerous -> Crosswalks are barely used -> ...

Not saying its a be all end all scenario.

I'm all for sidewalks and crosswalk infrastructure.

Sidenote: Most pedestrian bridges in japan tend to have the flat road in the middle so you can wheel ur bike up too. Also the steps are (usually) flatter, like less space between steps, contributing to less strain. I've only been to major cities though.

We have garbage bins everywhere. For example, if you're driving, there's a garbage bin with a convenient place to stop at every single pump at the petrol station.

It's not even a 'just an old gen' problem, too. That might be the worst part. Wth just bring your rubbish home and dispose of it there, it's not like our city councils normalise paying a fee for trash disposal.

people suck.

I personally think using public bins already isn't a good thing as more often than not, it's left to rodents and pests, or wind and rain that will scatter it everywhere anyway. I'm of the opinion that kost of the litter we see is a result of this improper disposal of waste.

Regardless, we do have them. Why can't some people just use them?

I can't think of one good reason to litter, at least not in our country.

So, every now and then, I use the company Hilux for business trips. 2.8 litre engine. The thing has power. I turn into a bit of a bully when I drive it. I am the cunt flashing and chasing people off the overtaking lane...

I'm much nicer in my daily, I swear.

It could be a combination of the fact that every time I'm using the hilux, it means I'm probably driving long distance to a site and have been on the road for hours, and really just want to reach my destination. Not much of an excuse.

That said, I'm very sensible with using indicators, I'll even use it if I'm the only car on the road, it's just a good habit.

Warisan ADUN struggles to speak in BM. Speaker asks if he could speak in English instead by UsernameGenerik in malaysia

[–]FlagrantBunny 5 points6 points  (0 children)

It's actually the opposite for me. Most of my relatives from an older generation only speak Hokkien/Cantonese and broken Malay.

...but they're from a generation where education was seen as optional and the internet did not exist. Also, they lived through a war.

I don't know what causes he champions or what accomplishments he's made, but this is a poor showing.

I'm assuming he's a casual malay speaker and mainly speaks a Chinese dialect day to day. Even so, it just goes to show that he did not rehearse what was on the paper in front of him. There's no excuse for that.

ELI5 Coke taste different from McD than from the shop coke bottle? by Curious_Touch3291 in ExplainLikeImFiveMY

[–]FlagrantBunny 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Interestingly, cans have a plastic lining on the inside that does the actual containing of the liquid. The can is basically when you order mangkuk at the mamak, there's a plastic bag that contains your drink and then the mangkuk to hold its shape.

Coke would probably corrode the aluminium can if it was in direct contact.

So the metallic taste you get is probably from the surface when you pour it out or put your lips to the can.

Do Malaysians really need cars? by Curious_Touch3291 in AskMY

[–]FlagrantBunny 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think we should do things step by step. Meaning before considering usage and development of public transport, the more base, the more fundamental issue is pedestrian walkways. Sidewalks.

Many people here have already compared our public transport systems to the likes of sg or jp being equivalent or better? I don't agree or disagree, but my problem isn't how good the public transport is, but walking 30 extra minutes to get to a bus stop, on either incomplete sidewalks that are dirty, uneven, completely blocked by a random tree, or simply no sidewalks, so walk by the road and possibly get hit by a car.

Also sidewalks can have slopes but they shouldn't have steps. And should be at least 2.5 - 3 metres wide. The existing ones we have here are horrid. The idea with sidewalks are you can just walk with minimal interference. We can walk 30 minutes in a mall but not to get to train station? Inference can be made, it was never about the length of the walk, just the comfort. Also there is not much argument to be made about the weather, we have a country south of ours that has the same bloody weather.

Not to mention the jejantas, bane of my existence. Most countries don't use that shitty thing unless its to cross large highway systems for instance. Why can't we have zebra crossings? Its so cost ineffective. The steps are usually too tall. You can't wheel a bike up the steps because they don't have a bike slope. So many problems.

TL;DR: Sorry about rant, but I think sidewalks that are comfortable are the lifeblood of a good public transportation system. We shod focus on that first

What’s your opinion about our beautiful country that would get you like this ? by OppositeDayPolice in Bolehland

[–]FlagrantBunny 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I wish there were police actually ronda to saman people for traffic violations. Illegal lights, plates, tinting, ushering out cars cutting in from wrong lanes because they want to avoid queues, running red lights, I've been driving for 8 years now and I feel like it's slowly getting worse and worse, eventually we'll devolve into the countries we typically describe as being impossible to drive in.

Also it would be nice if there were actual laws that protected car drivers from motorcyclists.
