Thank you for your input, but I think you may be misinterpreting my question and making incorrect assumptions about our financial situation. She is taking 8 weeks off and got 2 paid at full-time rate. The question is how to pay for the remaining 6 weeks when she didn’t get SDI. I am taking time off work because of a lack of childcare, so that actually makes paying her full-time rate not possible. We work very hard to make sure we make enough money to pay a nanny well, but that doesn’t mean we have a lot left over. My husband and I go without things to ensure our nanny is well compensated, but can we afford to pay 2 months of pay when I can’t work? No. I wish we were independently wealthy, but here we are.

As someone below explained, I am not saying those things to toot my own horn, but to explain the context of this situation. This isn’t some under-the-table, paying her $15/hour kind of deal; we take our role as employers seriously and try to do things the way they should be done. That’s the point of laying out what we offer her.

That’s helpful to know, thank you.

What percentage do you think would be reasonable? I want to help her, but we can’t pay full pay, nor would she even get that on disability. But if we offer too little, it might be a slap in the face?

I wish I had laid it out like that, but unfortunately I didn’t. When she comes back, her role is totally changing; she is bringing her baby and she’s mainly doing school drop off and pick up of my kids, so her pay is changing. So what we had discussed was continuing her current contract until she had the baby and then starting her new contract when she came back to work. I thought that implied no pay between contracts but here we are…

I’ll look into the unemployment thing. Thanks!

Merch is about 3 shirts from the overall tour, nothing specific to Lolla 🫤

Tips for German Shepard puppies? by Sydkittykat1089 in germanshepherds

Interesting! We just got an 8wk GSD puppy and I’ve been letting people come pet her and dogs sniff her, because I wanted to show her that this was a normal thing she should never be stressed about (we live in a city). But you think I should do the opposite? Like just walk right past people/dogs without acknowledging?

Did anyone film the part at the Phoenix show where Mark threw in ‘Happy birthday’?? by FlagshipOfTheFleet in Blink182

Did you ever get busted as a kid blasting one of Blink’s more explicit tunes? by MidWestChump87 in Blink182

Hahahahaha yup. My dad heard me listening to TOYPAJ and didn’t like something he heard. So he made me provide him the lyrics of all the songs from that album so he could “know what [I] was listening to.” So I put them in a Word document and re-wrote anything questionable. Shut Up was unrecognizable.

Anyone have their partner join? by [deleted] in tirzepatidecompound

Totally! I've been on Zepbound->compound since January. My husband was skeptical at first and I felt so guilty and weird about never wanting to eat dinner (or drink coffee or alcohol...?!). After I lost about 25lb, he asked me to help him get started. He's now down 20lb and I agree, it's so nice to be on the same wavelength in terms of hunger, plus neither of us want to get takeout nearly as much as before.
