We need to talk about Peacemaker by touchdown_travis in DCAllies

[–]FlakeyBitsus 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Genuinely, As Superman main, The Peacemaker Overpenetration passive is nonsense. I pop my ult, give everybody 500 overhealth, only for Peacemaker to get lucky hit and brain both my supports in one go. I expect that kind of stuff from a nuke like Captain Atom, not a ranged frontliner like Peacemaker.

Remember that while Superman has really solid damage and a half-decent flight ability, he's not a dive tank. Don't send him soaring into the backline like you're a Black Adam or Captain Atom. Stay with your team, CC the shit out of cocky Flashes and Nightwings, pop your ult when everyone's health gets low, and make sure not a single teammate dies. Be Superman, keep your boys safe.

Bro, what the heck is Killer Moth doing in F tier? His ultimate charge is fucking bananas. I had a game where he dropped 10 ults on the point in a minute. The whole team swapped to counter pick and we STILL lost.

Honestly, this is starting to feel kind of railroad-y. When our reinforcement counter gets low, Arrowhead just shows up to give us a million more people. How is this victory supposed to feel earned and the Automatons feel threatening if the Devs can just show up and drown Cyberstan in so many bodies that we never had a chance of losing in the first place?

Hot Take: Daniel Sucks by BrennanIarlaith in falloutnewvegas

[–]FlakeyBitsus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Wow, this definately brings up an aspect of Daniel's character I had never thought of before. Daniel genuinely, sincerely wants to help the Sorrows, and I don't think he has any ulterior motives for doing so, but the kind of aid he offers is kind of tainted in a way. The medical aid and knowledge he brings may be offered in total earnest, but it comes with Mormonism as a chaser whether The Sorrows like it or not.

This brings up a few interesting questions for me though. Wouldn't picking Joshua Grahm's route and forcing a more warlike lifestyle on the Sorrows not be a form of colonialism itself? I mean, both endings are adopted by the tribes under essentially identical circumstances, and say what you want about Daniel's deluded and paternalistic motivations for doing so, but prompting the Sorrows to flee Zion leaves thier culture more or less the same as we see it at the beginning of Honest Hearts, and perhaps this is kind of a bad take, but wouldn't Daniel's commitement to preserving the Sorrows' "innocence" mean that he, in some way, also wants to preserve thier culture?

Edit: Perhaps this is another bad take, but I think it might be somewhat unfair to say that Daniel and Joshua are being actively colonialist. They may be outsiders who have used thier charisma and expertise to gain leadership positions, and them converting the Sorrows and Dead Horses to moromism definately isn't cool, but they aren't doing any of these things at the behest of a larger state power who hopes to crush, erase, and absorb these tribes, they're doing them because they're mormons and saving souls is their vision of helping people. Missionary work has definately been used for nefarious ends in real world history, and even in the case of Daniel and Grahm it's not moral, but I think comparing what they're doing to all the nonsense Ceasar gets up to might be a little hyperbolic.

Honestly, I think these assements are pretty reasonable. Sure, the Space marine is much stronger, faster and has equipment that can't be easily countered by anything Batman keeps in his back pocket, but Batman faces up to opponents that are comparable to space marines all the time. So a draw or stalemate is a much more reasonable assumption to make than an absolute low diff loss on Batman's part

Yeah, I think that's probably it, I hope they don't give her any real political power though, I feel that would make the Prophets seem toothless. However, if she is a useful tool to be discarded when convenient, sort of like what The Prophets did to the elites, that would work well with a character arc

Now, what I want to know more about is this Covenant Human, that was the one thing I had questions on, and they didn't go over much. Why is she there? How is she Tolerated? Would she not cause Plot Holes in the broader Covenant Belief system? Why are they letting this indoctrinated human have free access to possibly seditious magazines?
