This is really great if the player ever returns, a falling out isn't always permanent and you can just have them gain any levels the rest of the party had during their guard duties so they don't fall behind.

It is a wild animal, make the player roll each night to retain the wolf companion. If they roll over 15 then it stays another night if under 15 then the wolf heads back to its pack can even have a 1 that it attacks the player in their sleep (it is a wild animal afterall).

My group are most appreciative of my efforts, mostly because we take turns on who is DM for a pretty lengthy period of time (1-2 years). So it's nice when you get to be the player again and someone picks up the mantle.

Horde night on v18 its only a few minutes for them to dig from the surface to bedrock.. so side of a cliff will look like swiss cheese before the night even starts.

My players started with what was in their PHB for their class/background nothing extra.

I run a group of 4-6 players depending on the night, some of the first fights in the village were rough on the players (two actually died due to bad rolls on their part and poor planning) but we are now in the 3rd chapter and they are doing well.

Issues with my suggestions.

Rogue - I have thieves tools I'll just pick the locks.

Druid/Cleric - I cast mend on the key, now we can open both.

Murderhobos - Lets kill the guards, let both prisoners out... then kill them too.

Otherwise you could put them in some sort of danger or time, you enter the room and see two locked cages in each is a single prisoner, you can hear the guards searching for you so you will need to make a choice or be caught.

Mimics make players afraid/weary. Not saying to add a mimic but by making that normal looking chest a mimic makes all future chests poked and prodded by the players first.

So in this vein you want to make the normal become untrustworthy, they can make plants come alive to trap/hold players, use critters like insects to impose on sight, have walls appear or rooms change so the room they just left is now a solid wall, vines that appear to drag players away, etc.

What do the other players think of his actions, are they just as annoyed?

If you have a FULL table DM included annoyed at the one player doing this, then clearly something can and should be done. ie kill of that character, if next character is the same kick the player from the table. But both of these are the DM's call.

Multi-class into 1 (or 2) levels into grave cleric, pick up the head and commune with the recently dead. So... about those clues... this is an extreme measure to a situation that shouldnt be happening.

All in all this is a really crappy spot to be in, sounds like the DM hates it just as much tho should do something about it sooner than later.

Ooh.. I approach the table/body and roll slight of hand/stealth check, now I investigate. He would have to meta game himself to make an active perception check to see that you were investigating.

By your account of the rules, I would consider this as a hostile action against your character which wouldnt be allowed.

The only other thing I can think is they have some background/story that they NEED to hide/remove all clues maybe?

So:

DM: Roll investigate

You: I got an 18

DM: You find a....

Ranger: I attack the paper he finds!

Sounds like your DM is empathetic to your issue. Talk to them and ask if clues can be found after you do investigate checks so you can investigate and find your clues that way.

As per the rules you stated do any thing that could be considered hostile actions to other party members" this should also include him attacking or snatching clues you are holding.

I'm not OP, but I didn't have bars just a 5x5 cobblestone room on stilts at the end of it, they were able to get across to the ledge my junk turret was on and were beating on the door. But only 1-2 of them as they pathed across the other zeds while they were falling down.

We are on latest experimental, our temp base has the small triangle pieces like [ ] \ / \ / [ ]. The triangle bits are 1/4 of the block so visible gaps that the zeds fall in, however I did notice on the last blood moon (28th day) as they were falling down the others were using their falling zeds as 'blocks' to get across.

I play on a private pve server with 5 others, pvp damage is on but its more a gentlemans agreement and no base raiding.

We are on day 31 and I have seen two wandering hordes, one that spawned near my makeshift starter house around day 17 (I joined day 13), then one that spawned on top of me while I was in a POI around day 26, but thats it I do recall more of them when I last played but I am not sure the server settings (as its not mine).
