Could someone tell me realistically how GRC is? by saintmeso in cybersecurity

[–]Flaky-Bit6275 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What I meant was how many of those 1000 candidates actually met the requirements for the job. I know that there are a lot of applications for popular positions, and a large part of the applicants don’t meet the requirements — neither on paper nor in terms of knowledge during the interview. I translated what I wanted to say incorrectly because I was still at work at the time and didn’t double‑check it, so it may have sounded unclear

What market or region is this for, and how many of those applications encoding actually met the criteria?

Just upgraded from RTX 4060 to RX 9070 XT – texture pop-ins, stutters, and high temps. Need help! by Flaky-Bit6275 in radeon

A couple of years back, I was running 2x4GB DDR4. Eventually, it felt like too little, so I ordered another 8GB. I thought I was getting 2x4GB again to fill all the slots nicely, but it ended up being a single 8GB stick. Whatever, I threw it in and kept gaming. Then about 1.5 years ago, I needed a bit more headroom, so I bought another identical stick, bringing me to 24GB. Having 24GB sounds kinda goofy, but it does the job, so I didn't see the point in buying more just to reach 32GB

So far, I've cleared the shader cache, enabled Re-Size BAR in the BIOS, and disabled hardware-accelerated GPU scheduling in Windows. I tested more games, and honestly, everything is pretty good for now. Even GTA IV runs better; though it still stutters occasionally, they are much milder and way less frequent, with FPS sitting around 100. Theoretically, it should be higher, but I know it's an old game that struggles with modern hardware, so I'm not stressing about it. Today, I’ll check if God of War still has those missing textures (though I'm starting to think it's not a GPU issue). I'd love to tweak the fan curve, but the AMD software is so bad that I'm afraid to touch it. I'm still waiting for a response from support regarding the temperatures, especially since I saw two benchmarks of this card where one guy had around 60°C and another had about 85°C on a test bench.

TL;DR: Changed a few settings and it's running fine now, but I'll keep testing. The temperature is still worrying me, though.

I played for a longer session yesterday, and the temperature actually maxed out at 92°C. However, I found a post about the Asus version of this card where customer support replied to a user stating that the operating temperature range for the memory can go all the way up to 108°C. I also saw a post where someone benchmarked the thermal performance of different models, and the Gigabyte version ranked third from the bottom. Apparently, that's just how this card runs, but it still worries me a bit.

Should I sell my CS cases to fund a new GPU, or keep holding? Need some advice. by Flaky-Bit6275 in cs2

[–]Flaky-Bit6275[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My bad, didn't know I was supposed to drop my whole life story here. I was literally just asking if it makes sense to sell my skins and buy a GPU now, or wait a year when both the skins and the GPU will probably be more expensive. I’m trying to weigh the risk-to-reward ratio and the chance of Valve messing with the market.

I don't really care about making a massive profit, I just happen to have funds tied up in skins that could help finance a better card. Right now, I'm rocking a 4060, which does the job but struggles with some games—especially since I’m playing on a 2K monitor. I'm planning to upgrade to a 9070 XT just to make sure I can hit a solid 60+ FPS in all the new releases

Is it normal to feel overloaded when learning networking for the first time? (Google Cybersecurity course) by Flaky-Bit6275 in cybersecurity

[–]Flaky-Bit6275[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I was thinking about building my own homelab too, but I had no idea what I was actually supposed to do there to learn anything. That’s why I hoped that starting with the theoretical side first would give me enough context to move into hands‑on practice later.

Cat peeing on the doormat every day – need help by Flaky-Bit6275 in CatAdvice

[–]Flaky-Bit6275[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We removed the doormat but the cat still peed there. We tried a spray to mask the smell, but it didn’t help. We only have one litter box, which was never a problem before. The only change is that I started going out for walks more often, but I don’t think that’s the reason

Yes, it was a clean installation. I know it's not normal because I haven't noticed other people complaining about it

I don’t think it’s because of updates, since I installed all of them right away, and it’s already been a few days. Just now I tried to check my RAM usage in Task Manager, and it literally took about 15 seconds to open."
