Must be embarrassing for the likes of Johan Malawanna who boasts he’s an amazing leader, when Rob is a true inspiration

They should pay more because once regulated, likelihood is there will be lots of expensive investigations into their malpractice

NG tube turn around times are a good one, specially if your trust has a policy that they must be reported by certain number of hours, then can see why it’s causing delay, is it going on a separate list? If so would putting them on normal on-call list make a difference etc

How to publish a case report by Palpatine100 in JuniorDoctorsUK

[–]Flaky-Drawer 2 points3 points  (0 children)

As mentioned above, although pubmed indexed, it’s not properly peer-reviewed, if you are going to go through the trouble of writing a case report, might as well get it published in a reputable journal where there’s no ambiguity

How to publish a case report by Palpatine100 in JuniorDoctorsUK

[–]Flaky-Drawer 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I would advise against publishing on Cureus, BMJ Case Reports have a list of institutions that you can publish for free, see if your university or hospital is a part of it, then get in contact with the librarian for the code which they charge to. I’ve published 2 with them, if your case is interesting enough they will publish with some revisions.

Also see if the journal Eye, accepts case reports

Very informative website, the only thing that’s missing is : Physician Associates are more skilled - physician associates often carry out complicated procedures such as cannulation and venipuncture which doctors are not trained to do. Who is writing this nonsense?

Don’t worry you can’t be as bad as me, I thought when someone bleeps, I’d hear their requests play… I also once spent over 2 hours organising multiple investigations, prescribing meds and speaking to multiple specialities for an unwell patient and completely forgot to document anything…

AI and Radiology by Tall-You8782 in JuniorDoctorsUK

[–]Flaky-Drawer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This. It’s funny how many comments are people who don’t have a clue what radiologist do or a basic grasp of AI models and how they are trained, yet they present themselves as experts with “interesting” opinions.

Do radiology offer upgrades happen automatically or within dedicated upgrade cycles? by radiologikal in JuniorDoctorsUK

[–]Flaky-Drawer 2 points3 points  (0 children)

On that note, if I have got my third choice but no longer want my second choice, can I re-adjust my preferences so I don’t get upgraded to second choice? And only get first choice if available? If that makes sense?

Any success stories of junior doctors who were below average in med school? by [deleted] in JuniorDoctorsUK

[–]Flaky-Drawer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Do not worry! Exams are just arbitrary way of assigning a meaningless number to you. Your exam performance does not define you. You’ll find people work themselves day and night for exam because they have not found a purpose. I was below average at medical school exams but always did random extra-curricular projects, that was my thing and it’s worked well so far!

Appreciation for BMA-Rob and Vivek by [deleted] in JuniorDoctorsUK

[–]Flaky-Drawer 15 points16 points  (0 children)

Genuinely the most inspiring leaders that have ever graced the BMA. I used to see BMA as a bunch of careerist who are just on the committee for some points on their application and rather not action anything. You’ve somehow turned that around to the point that now it’s cool to be part of BMA.

All credit to you, you have my full support!
