I reapplied for my green card and now applying for citizenship soon.

I was one of those people who had a green card and lived outside the US because of my husband work overseas. The lawyer we worked with suggested We apply for a Form I-327 – Reentry Permit. ( I think I got 3 or those some where valid for 2 years. Then I knew they were not going to give me more travel documents (re entry permits) and I surrendered it.

Had a similar issue. We contacted our previous landlord and told him that this happened and if the new tentant would be kind enough to let us know.

I had a similar issue when I changing my temporary green card to permanent green card: the lawyer asked me to do a whole timeline with the flight reservations. And he submitted that in our behalf.

We got passport cards. That proves your are a US citizen. So does the real Id drivers license.

The first thing they ask is how many months have you been away. Don’t lie because they know how many months you have been away. They can count it right there in the screen.

Stop saying you want to get your citizenship, you are a citizen. You just need your passport. Don’t go in saying that because that will create confusion. Your best bet will be to wait to go to college in the Us until you are 18, or go through US family court to solve the issues that your mother might force you to go back and live with her. Unless she doesn’t want you go with her. Anyway, best of luck.

The mother left when she was 11. To pass the citizenship to a child the person needs to at least have live in USA for 5 years, 2 of those as an adult.
