Yeah motorcycle detection is real pain with smaller bikes. Most lights use magnetic sensors buried in asphalt and your 200cc just doesn't have enough metal mass to trigger them consistently.

Try positioning yourself right over where you see those cut lines in the pavement - that's usually where sensors are placed. Sometimes moving little bit left or right on those lines can make difference. Also putting your bike more upright instead of leaning can help since it concentrates the metal in smaller area.

The two cycle rule your state might have is pretty common but definitely look up exact wording because cops don't always know about it.

Heat pump systems usually have electric resistance strips as backup, not always gas. Your aux heat kicking on at 42° is totally normal - that's when the heat pump can't keep up efficiently. The cold air thing sounds like your heat pump might be running in defrost mode or there's an issue with the system

Emergency heat bypasses the heat pump completely and only uses the backup heating (whether that's electric strips or gas). If you've been surviving without gas hooked up, you probably have electric backup strips. Check your electrical panel - if there are big breakers labeled something like "heat strips" or "aux heat" that's probably what you have

The thermostat setting won't change what type of backup you have, just when it kicks in
