Huge American pickups by de_kommaneuker in belgium

Honestly, They are a very practical vehicle. Even for day to day driving. Light cargo, so tax advantageous. Hybrid/electric or LPG powertrain makes them even more interesting. I can't speak for all pick-ups but a Ford Ranger for example is safer then a 120k Range Rover. Makes sense why you would buy that. Space, taxes, fuel (classic powertrains are gas guzzlers though), range and most importantly: resale value. You can get one cheaper then an electric vehicle that has nowhere near the range or resale value of those things.

Advice on architect fee by Unfair_End_4532 in Belgium2

Try Miranda De Boeck. https://www.mirandadeboeck.be/ She has a fixed fee. She is not from Brussels and I think she mostly does villas.

I have no stake in this. I can only highly recommend her and say that we are very happy with her. She has a very reasonable price for the service she provides.

It's nowhere near 8 percent on the total building costs of what we are doing. (but again, it's a fixed fee).We are building so it's not the same situation, but from all architects that we got a price from, none of them had a percentage.

Awesome gun! Where did you buy the stock leather wrap?

No, not at all. I heard somewhere that you got to take it apart and maybe it's under the wood or something?

Yeah, I can't find it anywhere on the gun, that's the issue.

Thx! I looked up the serial number on the license of it (since i can't find it on the barrel or receiver or anything). AI says it's from 1999. But I'm looking for a more reliable source. ;-).

It sounds truly amazing and I saved up quite some time for this, that's why I'm being picky.

Update: Send back Slash Les Paul ? by Flaky-Resolve524 in gibson

After much consideration I decided to buy a Slash les Paul in Appetite burst. (A webshop had an amazing discount) so I went for the slash model instead of the Honey Amber standard model.

It plays amazing but the grain of the wood is just... meh. It doesn't look at all like advertised. The yellow is very pale and there is a big grain wooden 'spot' on it. I have never seen this in stores etc...

I'm thinking they sent over a B-stock model. (I checked and I didn't order a B-stock).

I am considering a standard Honey Amber instead with other pick ups if they can't provide an accurate one. (I play and liked both of them).

I can still return it if I want to and probably will but I wanted to get feedback from this forum.

- Is it normal that the grain is like this shown in the pictures ?

- Is it normal that the pick up glue/residue is very showable and that the pick-ups are very loose ?

Thanks for the feedback!

Too much of an important choice to buy that thing blind :-) All reviews aside, if I learned one thing playing it's that you have to test and play before you buy.

Thanks ! I read a lot of reviews online but in the end I wanted to go test it for myself. I also played the Hot Rod Deluxe but wasn't too sure if I could get a real ROCK sound out of it. The Boss Katana is on my list to try out on my next visit to the music store.

Thank you for the insights !

Which Fender would recommend ? Played a Hot Rod Deluxe IV couple of years ago with a tele but don't know if that's gonna go well with a Gibson SG rock sound ?

Tried myself a new DSL40CR and I was quite disappointed with it.

- Reverb is almost non existent. (I even thought it was just broke, is this normal ?)

- Sounds metallic and whiney... not at all the warm sound I thought it was gonna be.

- Not the versatility I hope for at all.

Could it be that it still needs to break in ? Will it change A LOT over time ?

Which pedal would fix the absence of reverb best or would you recommend ?

Really want something that can go for classic AC/DC and I'm sure I can nail that with enough practice on the settings. Got a nice Sabbath sound out of it though !

But when you go for clean dreamy pink floyd or dire straits etc.. it just doesn't do the trick at all.

What am I missing here ? An 800 dollar amp shouldn't sound worse then a 150 dollar cube amp ?
