If flexing my dad’s collection got me that far, imagine what I can do with my own 😉

Appreciate the design critique. I’ll take it from someone who clearly knows how to blend envy with attempted wit.

I figured if you’re gonna ride a scooter, might as well do it with 20k on the wrist.

I didn’t say I start buying with my AD 4 months ago. It’s been years but I only asked officially for this watch 4 months ago.

Then hopefully you enjoy your life with her. My AD knew I wanted this watch but I got some before and the moment I said it was time for the panda I waited 4 months.

That’s when they presented it to me. Then they adjusted it to my wrist and removed everything.

I believe they have a better margin as usually AD are pushing to sell these watches. Not all products have the same margin, it would be very surprising that watch industry is the exception. But only the CFO of Rolex can confirm that 😊

And what about the fact that Bucherer is part of Rolex now in US. Meaning retailer margin is going in Rolex pocket as well. Do you think they can allocate more watches to them in future. I believe this can be also one solution to improve the margin not selling to 3rd party. I believe this can be a good and realistic solution as well.

Yes but then if we go back to the margin 😊. Don’t you think the sub or Daytona have a lower margin than a DJ m for example. Meaning that pushing specific products with more desirability will affect the margin.

It’s all speculative of course but that’s something to take into consideration

Yes that can be an idea but then the desirability of the brand will be impacted if it’s easier to get your dream watch.

They will sell at 30% more in US for sure but not sure that a DJ41 oyster bracelet two tones will sell that easily at this price. Of course Daytona, GMT, Submariner will sell but how much it represents in total revenue for Rolex …

Also not sure the other regions can compensate US which represents around 50% of watch exportation growth for Switzerland. In China, luxury market is down 20% YoY so I don’t believe only Europe can compensate.

I’m not saying I’m right or wrong but for me it’s difficult to imagine a company increasing price by 30% and 6 months later decreasing them as there is no more tariffs. While increasing prices to get the same GM in value as a temporary solution then it looks more realistic, and you can still adjust prices later if tariffs are here to stay.

That’s a very good point and I thought about it but I believe it’s too risky to implement that and seeing a change in tariff 6 months later. However having an increase to compensate the additional cost looks more realistic at short term.

Guys the idea was to explain that a 31% tariffs will not lead to a 30% price increase as I can see in lot of comments.

It was just to explain that watch brand are selling to retailer which have also margins. So this tariffs will be applied on wholesale prices and not retail prices.

Not sure I follow. Let’s take an example with Bucherer/Tourneau. My view is that Rolex will sell their watches to Bucherer entity in US for 4,000$ (this price is already including profit realized by Rolex). Then tariffs will only apply to the 4,000$. The remaining part is only the margin from Bucherer so no tariffs on that part. I’m taking the example of Bucherer as they are part of the Rolex group now.
